BLACKPINK Clinches Major Nominations on PLANETA Awards 2020
BLINKs have another reason to celebrate after BLACKPINK secured numerous nominations in the upcoming PLANETA Awards 2020. "Sour Candy" by Lady Gaga, Jennie, Lisa, Jisoo and Rosé was included as one of the nominees in the Mega Planet of the Year category alongside "Rockstar" by Roddy and Dababy, "Rhythm" by Black Eyed Peas, J. Smith and J. Balvin, "Death Bed" by Powfu and BEABADOOBEE, and "Blinding Lights" by The Weeknd.
The same track was included in the Best Collaboration category. BLACKPINK, however, needs to beat "Roses" by Saint JHN and J. Balvin, "Rockstar" by Roddy Rich and Dababy, "Death Bed" by Powfu and BEABADOBEE, and "Savage Love" by Jason Derulo, JAWSH 685 and BTS, to win the award.
BLACKPINK was also included in the Best K-Pop Group nominees list. Aside from Jennie, Lisa, Jisoo and Rosé, BTS, which is composed of Jin, Jimin, J-Hope, Jungkook, V, Suga and RM, is also vying for the title. Other nominees are TWICE, GOT7 and EXO.

BLACKPINK's 'THE SHOW' Is Most Watched in United States
Meanwhile, the first-ever livestream concert of BLACKPINK was proclaimed as the most watched in the U.S. YG Entertainment revealed that 19.2 percent of all the viewers of "THE SHOW" were Americans, followed by Thais, Filipinos, Japanese, Mexicans, South Korean, Hongkongers, Malaysians, Indonesians, Brazilians and British fans.
BLINKs were in high spirits when Jennie, Lisa, Jisoo and Rosé took the center stage anew, albeit virtually, for a 90-minute concert. Report have it that it was the first collaboration of BLACKPINK with YouTube Music, which means that only those who subscribed for a paid membership were able to watch the show live.
Fans who failed to watch "THE SHOW" should not fret, however, since YouTube would be showing it again eight times, as per reports. Among the highlights BLACKPINK's virtual concert is the unveiling of Rosé first solo track.
"THE SHOW, reportedly, earned more than 10 billion won from ticket sales since the paid membership costed around 36,000 won and 48,000 won. As of Thursday, Feb. 4, the official YouTube channel of BLACKPINK got more than 56.8 million subscribers already.
The solo YouTube channels of BLACKPINK Jennie and Lisa amassed more than 5 million subscribers each this week, which proved how popular and well-adored they are as music artists. As of this writing, Canadian singer-songwriter Justin Bieber holds the record for the popstar with the most followers in the widely used video streaming site with more than 60.7 million subscribers.
