The eighth season of Mnet's popular television mystery music game show "I Can See Your Voice" is about to begin airing this month and once again, the players will be Korean celebrities. And recently, tvN Asia would like to know which celebrity the fans or viewers would like to see in the new season.
"I Can See Your Voice" is a long-running variety program in which guest artists are presented with a group of "mystery singers" that is made up of good and bad singers. The artist would have to remove the people they think are tone deaf from the group without hearing them sing. In the end, the chosen mystery singer will have a duet with the guest artist to know whether the participant is a good or bad singer.
In October 2020, Mnet announced that Super Junior's Leeteuk, Kim Jong Kook, and Yoo See Yoon will again be the hosts of "I Can See Your Voice 8." The three MCs have been working together since the fourth season of the music game show.
Meanwhile, on Feb. 7, tvN Asia took to its Instagram account to share that "I Can See Your Voice 8" premieres on Feb. 11 at 10:30 p.m. KST, and it will be broadcast every Thursday. Along with the announcement is the question, "Who would you like to see on ICSYV8, figuring out who is a good singer?" and a collage showing eight Korean acts:
1. 2PM Wooyoung
Wooyoung is the main dancer and lead vocalist of JYP Entertainment's six-member boy band 2PM. He is the first member to release a Korean single album, which is titled "23, Male, Single" in July 2012. He also made his debut in Japan in March 2015 with the single "R.O.S.E." He is recognized for his smooth voice.
2. 2AM Jo Kwon
Jo Kwon is the leader and lead vocalist of 2AM, another male group under JYP Entertainment. He made his solo debut in June 2012 with his first album titled "I'm Da One." Five years later, he left the agency and joined Cube Entertainment. The idol is known for being the strongest vocalist of the band and has a good voice even outside his supported range.
3. IU
Solo artist IU, who is dubbed the "nation's sweetheart," is known and adored for her excellent singing ability and adorable personality. The female idol has already proven her incredible vocal by playing a perfect three-tier high note on her 2010 track "Good Day." Recently, she dropped the pre-release song "Celebrity."
4. Joon Park
Joon Park is a Korean-American singer, entertainer, and actor. As a singer, he is known as the leader and rapper of g.o.d, a four-member boy group formed by JYP Entertainment in 1999. Last year, Park's YouTube channel "Wassup Man" was adapted as a Netflix series titled "Wassup Man GO," which features the celebrity.
5. Lee Sang Min
Lee Sang Min is a singer, songwriter, and producer, and television personality based in South Korea. He is a former member of a co-ed hip hop and a dance-pop vocal group called "Roo'ra." He is a fixed cast member of JTBC's "Knowing Bros." Additionally, he appears in SBS's "My Little Old Boy," KBS Joy's "A Man Running a Chart," and more.
6. Lovelyz Mijoo
Mijoo is the main dancer and part of the vocal line of the K-pop girl group Lovelyz. Despite her not being the main or lead vocal of the band, she is acknowledged for her unique and powerful voice. Last year, she appeared on tvN's "Sixth Sense."
7. EXO D.O
EXO D.O is no doubt one of the male idols in K-pop with vocal runs that will make any listener swoon without giving much effort. He is usually praised for his vocal control and speed. Because of his amazing singing skills, he is one of the main vocalists of EXO.
8. SHINee Minho
Minho, the main rapper, sub vocalist, and visual of the boy group SHINee, is known for having a deep unique voice and one of the K-pop male idols with deep voices. He made his solo debut in March 2019 with the single "I'm Home."
