BTS, IU, and More: K-Pop Radar Reveals the Top 10 Music Videos for the Sixth Week of 2021

On Tuesday, Feb. 9, K-Pop Radar released their "Weekly Top 10 Music Videos" list for the sixth week of 2021. Keep on reading to see which K-pop music videos made the rankings.

BTS's "Dynamite" Still Takes The Throne

BTS's music video for "Dynamite" has once again topped the K-Pop Radar chart for three consecutive weeks in 2021. This marks the 10th overall time that BTS topped the charts with their first all-English single, "Dynamite." According to K-Pop Radar, the views of "Dynamite" grew substantially, successfully remaining at the top.

The global popularity of "Dynamite" continued not only on YouTube but also on Twitter, where "Dynamite" was selected as the most mentioned song on the platform for 2020. In addition, when Billboard announced that BTS had topped the Billboard Hot 100 with "Dynamite', the tweet earned more than 46 million retweets in just three days. Beyond the music video that people love to watch, "Dynamite" has become a song people can listen to together and talk about with.

Additionally, as of Sunday, Feb. 7, the music video for "Dynamite" has around 11.63 million comments, making it the YouTube video with the most comments. K-Pop Radar released a short statement concerning the rise of the music video, saying, "The music video for 'Dynamite' has increased by more than 15 million views each week. If this trend continues, BTS will be able to reach 1 billion views by mid-April." Currently, "Dynamite" has over 863 million views.

K-Pop Soloists Take The Nos. 2 and 3 Spots

Taking second place is IU with her music video for "Celebrity," which saw 12 million new views for the week. The music video for "Celebrity" was released in conjunction with the single on Jan. 27 and is a pop and electropop song. The track was written by IU. "Celebrity" is IU's first released since she dropped "eight (Prod. & Feat. SUGA of BTS)" in May 2020.

Prior to the release of the music video, Edam Entertainment released a teaser for the single on Jan. 25.

Third place may be surprising, as it was released back in 2012! It is the iconic music video for "Gangnam Style" by PSY, which was dropped on July 15, 2012.

The music video for "Gangnam Style" amassed 8.92 million new views during this time period. Previously, "Gangnam Style" attracted global media attention and became the first YouTube video to surpass one billion views. It was previously the most viewed video on the platform. It also once held the Guinness World Record for the most liked video on YouTube at the time.
