The Korean Business Research Institute measures a boy group's participation index, media index, communication index, and community reception by analyzing 52,820,091 big data concerning specific groups from Jan. 11 to Feb.. 1. Compared to the available 57,697,220 big data that was available in Jan., the amount decreased by 8.45%.
The brand reputation ranking is an index created through data analysis and is done to discover consumers' online habits and the impact these celebrities have on brand consumption. The boy group reputation index measures the positive and negative influence of a certain group, the media and consumer's interest in them, and the group's communication value.
BTS Sits at Number One
Sitting at number one is BTS (RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook) with a brand reputation index of 12,696,615. They have a participation index of 1,992,496, a media index of 3,323,022, a communication index of 3,706,365, and a community index of 3,674,731. Compared to their brand reputation index of 18,656,046 in Jan., their index dropped by 31.94%.
NCT Takes The No. 2 Spot
Following after BTS is NCT (Taeil, Johnny, Taeyong, Yuta, Doyoung, Ten, Jaehyun, Winwin, Mark, Renjun, Jeno, Haechan, Jaemin, Chenle, Jisung, Lucas, Kun, Jungwoo, Yangyang, Hendery, Xiaojun, Shotaro, Sungchan) with a brand reputation index of 4,443,291. They have a participation index of 276,320, a media index of 1,465,484, a communication index of 1,601,613, and a community index of 1,099,874. Compared to their brand reputation index of 5,115,736 in Jan., their index dropped by 13.14%.
Self-Producing Group SEVENTEEN at 3rd Place
The third-place goes to SEVENTEEN (S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, DK, Minghyu, The8, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino) with a brand reputation index of 4,183,589. They have a participation index of 529,320, a media index of 943,659, a communication index of 1,6031,758, and a community index of 1,078,852. Compared to their brand reputation index of 4,613,058 in Jan., their index dropped by 9.31%.
EXO Snags 4th Place
Fourth place was awarded to EXO (Suho, Chanyeol, Kai, D.O., Baekhyun, Sehun, Xiumin, Chen, and Lay) with a brand reputation index of 2,256,513. They have a participation index of 189,816, a media index of 707,745, a communication index of 763,703, and a community index of 595,250. Compared to their brand reputation index of 2,474,404 in Jan., their index dropped by 8.81%.
SHINee Takes Home Fifth Place
SHINee (Onew, Key, Minho, Taemin, and Jonghyun) took home fifth place with a brand reputation index of 1,677,521. They have a participation index of 167,200, a media index of 310,439, a communication index of 333,694, and a community index of 866,188. Compared to their brand reputation index of 1,569,640 in Jan., their index rose by 6.87%.
