BTS, TWICE, NCT, IZ*ONE, ENHYPEN & More: These K-Pop Acts Receive Gaon Certification This Month

Gaon Chart on Thursday, Feb. 11, has revealed that tracks and K-Pop acts that made a mark and who would be receiving certifications this month. Results were based on the total album sales, digital streams and downloads.

BTS and TWICE Get Platinum Certifications

As expected, BTS received a platinum certification from Gaon Chart after "Dynamite" surpassed 100 million digital streams. Besides Jin, Jimin, Jungkook, J-Hope, V, Suga and RM, Naomi Scott also got the same certification for her track called "Speechless."

TWICE, which is composed of Sana, Momo, Tzuyu, Mina, Jeongyeon, Nayeon, Jihyo, Dahyun and Chaeyoung, dominated the downloads category for the song called "Yes or Yes." According to Gaon, it has been certified platinum after garnering more than 2.5 million digital downloads.

As for the album sales category, a total of six albums were certified platinum for selling more than 250,000 copies. Among the albums who made the cut this time are "The Classic Album I" and "The Classic Album II" by Kim Ho Joong, "One-reeler/Act IV" by IZ*ONE, "Border: Day One" by ENHYPEN, "Kai" by EXO member Kai, "Breath of Love: Last Piece" by GOT7, and "Poet I Artist" by SHINee member Joghyun.

"Resonance Pt. 2" by NCT 2020 was also certified million for selling more than 1 million copies. The said album is the second part of the South Korean boyband's second studio album. It was two carrier singles, namely: "Worth It" and "90s Love."

At the moment, "Celebrity" by IU is on the top spot of the Gaon Digital Chart. It is followed by "Stars in the Sky Night" by Scripture, then, "Dynamite" by BTS in the third spot. "Let Me Borrow This Night" by 10CM and "VVS" by Mirani, Munchman, JUSTTHIS, Khundi Panda and MUSH VENOM rounded up the top 5 in the fourth and fifth places, respectively.

BTS Is Set to Perform on 'MTV Unplugged' Soon

Meanwhile, MTV confirmed that Jin, Jimin, Jungkook, J-Hope, V, Suga and RM would be appearing in its upcoming episodes. The television channel revealed that BTS is set to take the center stage and perform on "MTV Unplugged" this month.

No other official details have been made public as of yet. However, reports have it that the imminent episode that would feature BTS is slated to be aired on Feb. 24 at 10 a.m., PHT. As per usual, the special episode would be broadcast simultaneously around the world.

Speculations have it that Jin, Jimin, Jungkook, J-Hope, V, Suga and RM are very much likely to perform some of their trending songs such as "Life Goes On," "Boy with Luv," "Savage Love," and "Dynamite" among others. Ahead of their appearance on "MTV Unplugged," BTS would be releasing the "BE: Essential Edition" on Feb. 19.

Previous reports claimed that the upcoming new version of the "BE" album would be featuring all the tracks from its deluxe version. What makes it interesting, though, is the fact that it would include other features that devoted followers of BTS have not yet seen before, which may include behind-the-scenes of their recording and preparations for the album release.
