Tiffany Joins the Cast of "Chicago"
Reports started coming out on Feb. 16 that Girls' Generation member Tiffany will be acting in "Chicago." She was one of the 22 actors who were selected after the fierce audition process. Other people who were cast for the musical include Yoon Gong Ju, Min Kyung Ah, Park Gun Hyung, and Chae Jae Rim.
Auditions for the musical were held in the summer of 2020. Tiffany scored the lead role of Roxie Hart, a murderess and aspiring vaudevillian who murders her paramour after an argument and is then sent to prison.
They will join the existing cast members, Choi Jung Won, Ivy, Kim Young Joo, Kim Kyung San, S.K. Kim, and Cha Jung Hyun, for this ear's run of "Chicago." According to a representative of the musical, they are very pleased with this year's cast, saying that the level of actors and their abilities are very high. With new faces to the musical, it is expected that unique and attractive energy to the stage.

"Chicago" was first brought over to South Korea on Dec. 8, 2000, and has been running for nearly 21 years. "Chicago" is the longest-running American musical in Broadway history. It has been performed 9,690 times in 24 years and has won 55 trophies as the world's most prestigious award shows, such as the Tony Awards. "Chicago" has been performed 32,500 times in more than 500 cities in 36 countries around the world, including the United Kingdom, Australia, Germany, and Japan, and has been watched by more than 33 million people.
Tiffany has been taking acting lessons since 2017. Her first musical theatre role was in 2011, where she played the role of Carmen Diaz in "Fame" until 2012. It has been nearly 10 years since she acted on stage, and fans are excited to see her take on a more mature role. She previously teased that she was cast in "Chicago" in an Instagram post, where she captioned her photo: "All I care about is love." This mirrors a song title from the musical, which is "All I Care About (Is Love)."

After leaving SM Entertainment in 2017, Tiffany returned to her home in the United States and pursued a solo career in the West. in 2018, she released her first U.S. solo single with "Over My Skin." In 2019, Tiffany dropped the mini-album "Lips on Lip," with the title track "Born Again." The mini-album debuted on the Billboard Heatseekers Album Chart at number 9 and on the Independent Album Charts at number 30. It peaked at number 8 on the Gaon Album Chart.
Currently, Tiffany is back in South Korea. She is a regular cast member of the SBS show "The Dog I Encountered." She has also appeared in Vogue Korea and fellow Girls' Generation's Yuri's YouTube channels.
