SEVENTEEN Mingyu, who was accused of being involved in a school bullying controversy, was defended by a netizen who claimed to be his former schoolmate.

While the SEVENTEEN Mingyu and its agency denied the allegations about the school violence controversy, a netizen who claimed to be a former schoolmate of the idol also broke his silence and defended Mingyu.

SEVENTEEN Mingyu's Alumnus Reveals Idol's Real Personality, Contradicting the Accuser's Allegation

Netizens A, who claimed that he was an alumnus of SEVENTEEN Mingyu, said on the online community on Feb. 22, "School violence is not reasonable. Fellow alumni could attest. He was a bit of an " iljin" (bully/delinquent), but he's a close friend of the whole school," explaining that he's not a type who would hang out with everyone, but he just truly liked and was close to people.

In regards to calling Mingyu an "iljin," the former classmate clarified that their school was an ordinary school that even the delinquent are those students who just get together in the neighborhood parks, while the "iljin" girls are those who have shorter skirts compared to other students.

As for the accusations of being friends with Cyworld bullies, the former schoolmate mentioned that he's also friends among the alleged "bullies" that goof around.

The alumnus added, "Mingyu was a friend who can talk comfortably and friendly except for strangers. He is so kind and good that even if you don't know him, he can become a close friend if he accidentally talks in the hallway or the playground."

"He was a friend who always ate lunch, played soccer in the playground, and wore only sportswear or PE uniform."

At the end of the post, the netizen affirmed that it was a false rumor, that's why he quickly explain for Mingyu as well.

SEVENTEEN Mingyu Accused of Being a School Bully

Earlier in the morning, an online community posted a school violence claim that can infer the name of SEVENTEEN Mingyu. The author claimed that Mingyu threw a coke lid on his face and laughed when he was verbally abused by a group when he was in middle school.

In response, Pledis Entertainment said, "After checking, the claim is unfounded and obviously false information."

"It took time to check the facts in detail. "There is a graduation album that the writer posted saying it is a certification, but it is completely different from Mingyu's graduation picture. Unlike in the article, Mingyu has already been a trainee since his second year of middle school."
