Enjoy the Korean Experience from Home with MCST's Virtual Tours

The Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, together with the Tourism Development Institute, have launched their "K-tour Top 10" virtual excursions - allowing fans all over the world to enjoy and learn about Korea's tourist attractions.

Originally launched in 2017, the "K-tour Top" introduces its scenic locations for its local citizens, as well as to enthusiasts all over the world. A total of 39 cities have been selected to be a part of the program, which are then grouped into 10 regions based on their common stories and themes - presenting a coherent and comprehensive experience for the audience.

The 2021 "K-tour Top 10" virtual tours will also be led by local experts who will be guiding the audience through a video tour of the featured locations. Also, these trips will be available in two separate sets. One part is specifically tailored for Korean tourists: six videos narrated in their native Korean language. The other part of the virtual tours will be for global audiences: nine videos in English narration The Korean language tours have been on sale, up until February 25 while the English language programs are available until March 20.

All six Korean-language tours were offered at a 30% discount from myrealtrip.com for 4,900 won (4.41 USD). It included the Daegu Lee Jeong-seop Tour, the Gwangju Yangrim-dong Virtual Tour, Today's Gyoeongju, and the Gunsan Time Slip Tour. Additionally, the Gyeongju History Tour and Gunsan Modern History Tour are specifically designed for children tourists.

The nine virtual English narrated tours, according to a statement from the agency, were particularly designed for people unable to visit Korea in person because of the global coronavirus pandemic and subsequent travel restrictions. The experience also aims to introduce tourist spots as well as local delicacies. While global tourists might not be able to visit Korea just yet, they can use the virtual experience as a guide once restrictions are lifted and make the actual, in-person experience.
