EXO-Ls were shocked upon learning that EXO member Chanyeol is set to enlist for his mandatory military service in March.
On Friday, Feb. 26, it was reported that Chanyeol has been called to start his mandatory military service on March 29. The "Call Me Baby" hitmaker will be the fifth member of EXO to complete his service after Chen, Suho, D.O., and Xiumin.
SM Entertainment was quick to confirm the news. In a released statement, the agency giant shared that EXO member Chanyeol will serve the country as an active duty soldier on March 29.
However, the management did not reveal the time and location of the K-Pop idol's enlistment, further stating that there will be no separate events related to the "Ko Ko Bop" singer's official enlistment date.

EXO Member Chanyeol Apologizes to Fans for Causing Them Concern
Meanwhile, Chanyeol wrote a sweet apology letter to EXO-L on Feb. 25. The South Korean rapper shared his heartfelt message to EXO-Ls, and admitted that he had a hard time composing his thoughts.
Chanyeol, in his letter, said sorry to his fans for causing them so much concern, most probably alluding to the controversy he was involved in. He also expressed his gratefulness to everyone who gave him love and gifts during his birthday on Nov. 27, 2020.
The EXO member went on to say that he would make it up to his fans and promised not to let them down again, adding that he would do his best to prove that their beliefs and perceptions about him are true.
In the end, Chanyeol thanked everyone who continues to support him, and fellow EXO members Kai, Baekhyun, D.O., Sehun, Chen, Suho, Lay, and Xiumin since they started. The "Stay With Me" singer shared that he will always keep the unwavering love and support that his fans have been sending him and asked them to keep safe and healthy always.
To recall, an unnamed online user claimed that she and the K-pop idol dated for three years before they finally called it quits. She accused EXO member Chanyeol of cheating on her with over 10 other girls during their relationship. However, SM Entertainment neither confirmed nor denied the allegations.
EXO Chen's Enlistment
Fans can recall that Chen started his service in the military on Oct. 26, 2020. Just days before he entered the military, he released a poignant track titled "Hello." The EXO main vocalist then shared to fans that he is set to enlist at the time.
Chen, in a message he wrote for his fans, said that he wanted to give his supporters a proper goodbye through the letter. The EXO member vowed to do his best unfulfilling his duties, in good mental and physical health so he could show his improvement and growth when he returns.

South Korean-Chinese boyband EXO is comprised of nine members. Out of their total number, two (Suho and Chen) are currently fulfilling their military duties while the other two (D.O. and Xiumin) already got discharged.
Aside from Chanyeol, reports online added that his co-member Baekhyun and fellow '92-liner might enlist later this year as well.
However, SM Entertainment has not yet revealed details about the forthcoming enlistment of the "UN Village" singer up to this writing. EXO-Ls should also stay tuned for more details about Chanyeol's compulsory military service.
