The Bicycle Challenge, a new viral phenomenon led by Chung Ha based on her single of the same name, has successfully run on the Amazer App with close to 600 teams around the world participating.
In the global K-Pop fan interaction platform, 583 teams from different countries made their own videos showcasing their dance moves set to the latest Chungha track, "Bicycle," including teams from the US, South Korea, the UK, Indonesia, and Australia.
Chungha herself chose the Top 10 entries, with the winner revealed in a reaction video available in the Amazer App as well as on its official YouTube channel. Together with two dancers who worked with her, they chose the best performances among the participants.
In the reaction video, Chungha expressed gratitude to everyone who joined the Bicycle Challenge. "I didn't know it would be this fancy and creative," she said. The Korean artist also added that they were moved and that they should also improve. Even the dancers with her agreed and were impressed with the entries.
The Bicycle Challenge was initiated by Amazer, made even more special with Chung Ha herself serving as the judge of the submitted videos. Unlike other viral challenges, which taps other idols and celebrities to help increase engagement and attention, Amazer and Chungha left the challenge to the public's creativity and talents, resulting in this resounding success. From fans to known K-pop cover groups participated - from a total of 54 different countries - with some entries from the challenge being made available on Chung Ha's own Instagram account, achieving warm response on the social media platform.
The winners are Kyumyu Park from South Korea coming in at 3rd place, Vy from the United States at 2nd, and Jeremy Nathaniel from Indonesia claiming the top spot.
"I am so happy to have a chance to see this," Chungha said near the end of the reaction video.
"Bicycle" serves as the title track of her first full-length album, "Querencia," released last February 15. The title track also got a music video released on the same day as the album released.
