As we enter the fourth generation of K-pop, let us take a look back into the third generation groups that saw massive success in the industry. Here are the top 10 third-generation idol groups with the most cumulative weeks on the MelOn Top 10 chart.

TWICE is the K-Pop Group with The Most Cumulative Weeks on the MelOn Top 10 Chart

Sitting at the top of this ranking is the JYP Entertainment girl group, TWICE. The girl group has spent a whopping 103 cumulative weeks on the MelOn Top 10 charts. Through the years, TWICE has seen amazing results on the MelOn charts and the other popular music charts.

TWICE is the fifth artist with the most number-one songs on the MelOn Charts, with seven songs hitting number one.

One of the most popular TWICE songs on the MelOn chart is their 2016 hit, "Cheer Up," which won "Song of the Year" in the 2016 Melon Music Awards (MMAs). Overall, TWICE has sold over 10 million albums in South Korea and Japan alone. Due to their overwhelming popularity, TWICE has been dubbed as the second "Nation's Girl Group," a title that was once exclusively for Girls' Generation.

BTS tied with BLACKPINK, each securing 92 weeks on the MelOn Top 10 Chart. Ever since BLACKPINK's debut, the girl group has dominated the MelOn charts, with "BOOMBAYAH" and "WHISTLE" both debuting within the MelOn Top 10 charts. In their debut days, they even scored a rookie award at the Melon Music Awards (MMAs) for their hit releases that year, "BOOMBAYAH," "WHISTLE," and "Playing With Fire."

Throughout their years as a group, BLACKPINK has scored five MelOn Music Awards. In 2016, they won the Best New Artist Award. In 2018, they won the Best Dance - Female Award for "DDU-DU DDU-DU" and was named as one of MelOn's Top 10 Artists.

In 2020, they were once again named as one of MelOn's Top 10 Artists and won the award for Best Dance - Female for "How You Like That."

BTS, on the other hand, has truly left their mark on the MelOn charts. Their song, "Spring Day," is the longest-charting song on the weekly chart, having stayed on the charts for 213 weeks... and it is still charting!

"Spring Day" is the most liked song of all time on the MelOn streaming platform, with 524,678 likes as of Mar. 15.

Their other hit song, "Boy With Luv (feat. Halsey)," sits at number eight on the longer charting songs on the weekly chart ranking with 100 weeks, and it is also still charting!

Their 2020 all-English single, "Dynamite," has spent the most weeks on number one on the MelOn charts, clocking in 11 weeks, or 75 days. "Dynamite" is the fourth most liked song of all time on MelOn, with 387,383 likes as of Mar. 15.

Additionally, BTS's "DNA" is the fifth most liked song of all time, with 381,326 likes on MelOn. Overall, BTS is the most streamed artist on the MelOn platform.
