TWICE's 'I Can't Stop Me' MV Surpasses 260 Million Views + Group Beats BTS & BLACKPINK on MelOn Tally

TWICE continues to dominate numerous music charts around the globe. Aside from BTS and BLACKPINK, the JYP Entertainment-formed group is also considered as a big thing in the United States.

On Wednesday, March 17, the all-female band added another color to its banner after one of its music videos breaks another record on YouTube. Keep on reading to know more about the latest milestone.

TWICE's 'I Can't Stop Me' Music Video Surpasses 260 Million Views

TWICE just proved their massive influence and popularity when the official music video of their chart-topping track called "I Can't Stop Me" amassed a total of 260,131,746 views recently. The same clip got more than 4.5 million likes and more than 2 million comments.

Most, if not all, fans are aware that "I Can't Stop Me" was released as the lead single of "Eyes Wide Open" by TWICE. The said EP was released in October 2020 through Republic Records and JYP Entertainment.

The "I Can't Stop Me" track of TWICE garnered numerous accolades last year. It was even listed as one of the 20 Best K-Pop Songs of 2020 by Medium, one of the 35 Best K-Pop Songs of 2020 by BuzzFeed, one of the Best K-Pop Comebacks of 2020 by Metro and one of the 20 Best K-Pop Songs of 2020: Critic's Picks by Billboard among others.

If that is not enough, the song also did well in various music charts worldwide. It peaked at No. 31 on the Billboard Global 200 Chart, No. 1 on Billboard U.S. World Digital Song Sales, No. 8 on Gaon Chart, and No. 5 on the Japan Hot 100 Chart. It even received a silver certification from RIAJ for selling more than 30 million units in Japan.

TWICE Earns New Title and Makes New Record on MelOn Top 10 Chart

Meanwhile, TWICE is currently the K-pop group with the most cumulative weeks on the Top 10 chart of MelOn. Sana, Tzuyu, Momo, Nayeon, Mina, Jihyo, Jeongyeon, Dahyun and Chayoung have spent a total of 103 weeks on the said tally.

Moreover, TWICE was also pronounced as the fifth act with the most No. 1 song on the MelOn Charts, with a total of seven songs that hit the top spot. Aside from "I Can't Stop Me," the group's 2016 track called "Cheer Up," which was awarded as the Song of the Year during the 2016 MelOn Music Awards, was among the longest-ranking song on the said tally.

Coming after TWICE are BTS and BLACKPINK. Both groups spent 92 weeks on the MelOn Top 10 Chart, which helped them secure the No. 2 spot. Among the longest-charting songs of BTS in the tally are "Spring Day," "Boy with Luv" and "Dynamite."

BLACKPINK, for their part, dominated the chart with their popular hits such as "WHISTLE," "BOOMBAYAH," "Playing with Fire," "DDU-DU DDU-DU" and "How You Like That" among others. Other K-pop acts that made it to the Top 10 list are MAMAMOO at No. 4 with 60 weeks, Red Velvet at No. 5 with 59 weeks, EXO at No. 6 with 36 weeks, iKON at No. 7 with 31 weeks, WINNER at No. 8 with 29 weeks, GFRIEND at No. 9 with 28 weeks and WANNA ONE at No. 10 with 18 weeks.
