Due to the ongoing pandemic, the Korea-UAE K-pop Festival will be held non-face-to-face and aims to promote Korean content to the locals in UAE. The event will be broadcast via the "SBS KPOP" YouTube channel, Naver's V-Music channel, and "Korean Cultural Center in the UAE" YouTube channel on April 2 at noon KST.
The upcoming Korea-UAE Cultural Exchange Event is part of the "Korea-UAE Cultural Dialogue 2020," which includes a series of activities that will take place in both countries to give focus on food, music, and literature. The cultural dialogue was launched last year in celebration of the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between South Korea and the United Arab Emirates.
However, as most cultural events were postponed due to COVID-19, the two countries extended the celebration until this year. And the first event this 2021 will be the Korea-UAE K-pop Festival, which will be hosted by the South Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism from March 31 to April 2, and jointly organized by the Korea Creative Content Agency and the Korea International Cultural Exchange Promotion Agency.
