On March 16, YG Entertainment released the physical album of BLACKPINK Rosé's "-R-." Based on the latest Gaon Weekly Retail Album Chart, Rosé's debut single album sold the most copies within that week.
BLACKPINK Rosé's "R" Ranks First on the Latest Gaon Weekly Retail Album Chart
Now that the fourth week of March 2021 has started, the Gaon Music Chart revealed the rankings of their Weekly Retail Album Chart for the 12th week of 2021. Numerous new albums managed to enter the latest chart including BLACKPINK Rosé's "R." In particular, Rosé's debut single album took the No. 1 spot after selling thousands of copies. This means, that "R" was the best-selling album for the third week of March.

Based on the Gaon Weekly Retail Album Chart, BLACKPINK Rosé's "R" sold a total of 314,706 copies within the third week of March (March 14-20), since the physical album was dropped on March 16. Within that week, its first-day sales were the highest as it sold a total of 255,640 copies. On the second day, there were 5,798 albums sold.
The album sales increased on the following days, with "R" selling 29,041 copies on the third day and 24,192 copies on the fourth day. It then decreased on March 20 with only 35 albums sold.

The KiT version of "R" also entered the Top 5 of the Gaon Weekly Retail Album Chart. It debuted at No. 4 with 31,257 copies sold. The album saw the highest number of sales on its first day as well with 18,175 sold copies. Thousands of albums were also purchased the next days: 1485 (2nd day), 4996 (3rd day), and 6601 (4th day).
Super Junior, WOODZ, & PENTAGON Land within the Top 5 of the Gaon Weekly Retail Album Chart
Meanwhile, other newly-released albums also managed to enter the Top 5 of the Gaon Weekly Retail Album Chart. Sitting at No. 2 on the Gaon Chart is Super Junior's new album "The Renaissance." The boy group's tenth album sold a total of 217,207 copies within the third week of March, with its first-day album sales reaching 205,517 albums.

The third-best-selling album last week is WOODZ's "SET" with 31,880 copies sold. It was able to sell 24,694 albums on the first day. And at No. 5 is PENTAGON's "Love or Take," which had 25,655 copies in its first-week album sales.
