The Korean pop band BTS is impressive when it comes to their choreography and extreme dance moves. To have seven band members synched and doing the same extreme footwork is mind-boggling. Watch one of their performances and you will see how truly dedicated they are to making it a seamless show.
But these extreme dance moves and performances can come with some heavy training times and potential pitfalls. We looked a little deeper to see if these fit and young K-Poppers can always keep up with the strenuous dance moves.
Injuries are Possible
V, a singer/dancer in BTS also known as Kim Tae-Hyung, has had a few injuries throughout the years. In 2019, he was running to get on stage when he fell and hurt his shoulder. He continued the show flawlessly, but then had some recovery time after. He also hurt his ankle in a 2017 performance but kept going and finished the show. There were pictures shown later on social media with his foot in a bandage.
Does this make the K-Pop group's dance routines dangerous? No, not really, but it does make them very physically demanding, and it draws upon the fitness of the performers. The K-Pop bands, male and female, need to stay in excellent shape to keep up.
While watching a K-Pop performance, you will see push-ups, handstands, spins, jumps, flips, and more. It's like watching a gymnastics team or a cheerleading squad, all perfectly timed to the music. K-Pop concerts are a real eye treat.
Choosing Performance over Health
But the question remains: Are K-Pop band members jeopardizing their health to keep performances top-notch? If you asked K-Pop stars, they would think they are doing what they are meant to do, no matter the cost.
Korean culture sets high standards for so many areas of people's lives. Every year in March, Koreans celebrate with a ceremony for those that have been good taxpayers. Each year, two celebrities are selected and honored as goodwill ambassadors. They are showing to all Koreans that tax problems and poor citizenship are very much frowned upon. Fariscspa.com is the frontrunner in sorting out these problems.
Other areas Koreans are encouraged to work hard are career and education.
K-Pop stars hold themselves to a very high performance standard. They consider it an honor to sing at the taxpayer's ceremony or to be known worldwide for their talent and hard work.
Let's face it, most of the K-Pop stars today are in their 20s and have a quick recovery time for most minor injuries. That doesn't mean they won't keep pushing themselves, which means we get to see more outrageous performances.
