Woojin has stepped away from the limelight for a while after he left JYP Entertainment in October 2019. On Tuesday, March 23, the K-pop idol made headlines again after he, finally, commented on the sexual harassment accusations he received years ago. Keep on reading to get more details.

Ex-Stray Kids Member Woojin Addresses Sexual Harassment Allegations

Woojin took to an Instagram Live to comment on the false sexual harassment rumors plaguing him for years already. Most, if not all, fans can recall that the former Stray Kids member was accused of sexually maltreating a number of women at a bar.

In his livestream, Woojin confessed it was hard for him to believe that he was blamed for something he did not do. The K-pop idol even shared that it was not easy to defend himself since most people already judged him. He hopes that no one would experience the quandaries he had to go through before.

JYP Entertainment has been denying the accusations many times over. The agency even provided pieces of evidences to prove that the ex-Stray Kids member was, actually, at home when the alleged sexual harassment happened.

After a thorough investigation, it was found out that an overseas Twitter user was the one responsible for spreading the malicious news online. Police even discovered that an anti-fan living in Brazil started the sexual harassment allegations started. The suspect even stole some snaps of an unidentified civilian and claimed that it was former Stray Kids member Woojin.

This is not the first time that Woojin commented on the sexual harassment accusations being thrown at him. In October 2020, the South Korean performer told South China Morning Post that, initially, he did not take the issue seriously because it was not true at all.

Woojin said he knew that some Twitter users are fond of making up stories just to get attention. However, the ex-Stray Kids member admitted he felt surprised that the rumors about him has spread faster than the other rumors.

At the time, Woojin apologized to his avid followers, who got confused with the issue. The idol said he would try to be more cautious whenever he encounters the same situation again in the future.

Ex-Stray Kids Member Woojin Prepares for His Upcoming Solo Debut

Meanwhile, Woojin is said to be preparing for his imminent solo debut. It was revealed, in December 2020, that the former Stray Kids member has signed an exclueive contract with 10x Entertainment after years of working under the management of JYP Entertainment.

In a statement, the new agency said that would support Woojin wholeheartedly so he could hone and show his many talents in different fields to his devoted followers. At the time, 10x Entertainment shared that it has started planning to start producing a solo album for the South Korean star, which is likely to be released within this year.
