More and more K-pop songs are being released each month. However, not all can reach impressive milestones and feats like others. This explains why being some South Korean bands consider making it to some major music charts a big deal.
Here are some of the popular K-pop songs that have debuted on Billboard's World Digital Song Sales Chart this year. Keep on reading to know if your favorite tracks and artists made it to the list.
#1. "Cry for Me" by TWICE
The South Korean all-girl group dropped their chart-topping track on January 2. It did not take so long for "Cry for Me" to peak at the No. 1 spot on the Billboard World Digital Song Sales Chart. All in all, it spent four weeks in the said tally.
#2. "Amusement Park" by Baekhyun
This EXO member made a huge feat early this year after his new track called "Amusement Park" entered the popular tally. Baekhyun released the track on January 2. The song effortlessly caught the attention of many that it peaked at the No. 10 spot of the above-mentioned Billboard chart and enjoyed a streak there for a week.
#3. "Fav Boyz" by A.C.E
The all-boy group collaborated with Steve Aoki for the remix of their latest track. A.C.E released the "Fav Boyz" song on January 23 and appeared on the Billboard World Digital Song Sales Chart for one week, where it peaked at No. 4.
#4. "HWAA" by (G)I-DLE
Of course, the list would not be complete with the record-breaking song from (G)I-DLE. The K-pop all-female group released "HWAA" on January 23. The song drew so much attention since its release due to its undeniably catchy tune, which helped it climb at the No. 6 spot of the said Billboard chart and spent a total of six weeks there.
#5. "What I Said" by VICTON
The boys returned to the music scene with a bang when the carrier single of their "VOICE: The Future Is Now" album became an instant hit among K-pop fans. VICTON released "What I Said" on January 23 and entered the Billboard World Digital Song Sales Chart days after. It peaked at No. 21 and secured a spot for one whole week.
#6. "Nobody Else" by MONSTA X
The South Korean all-male group made another feat with their track called "Fatal Love." The song was released on January 23 and later spent a week on the said Billboard chart, peaking at no. 10.
#7. "Celebrity" by IU
It comes as no surprise that this song made it to the Billboard World Digital Song Sales Chart after getting several citations and accolades in South Korea alone. IU released "Celebrity" on February 3 and easily entered the said tally days after. The track spent a total of three weeks in the chart and peaked at No. 3.
#8. "Odd Eye" by Dreamcatcher
The Happyface Entertainment-formed group has grown their fanbase after the release of their "Odd Eye" track, which became very popular among K-pop listeners. The all-female band dropped the track on February 6 and became part of the Billboard chart for a total of two weeks, peaking at No. 5.
