The year 2021 could be a huge year for the K-pop industry as more and more artists are being launched while others are making their huge comebacks. From BLACKPINK member Rosé to South Korean pop star IU, here are some of the new solo songs K-pop fans should not miss.

1. "On the Ground" by Rosé

There is no denying that YG Entertainment has, successfully, launched Rosé as a solo artist after the BLACKPINK member broke numerous records since the release of her album titled "-R-." "On the Ground," which is the carrier single of her first solo album, has also been making waves in various music charts and online streaming platforms.

As a matter of fact, the official music video of "On the Ground" by BLACKPINK member Rosé was named as the clip with the most views in 24 hours for a female K-pop soloist. As of this writing, it already has a total of 122.636 million views with more than 7.5 million likes and more than 1.63 million comments. It is, also, currently the No. 31 trending video on YouTube.

2. "LMLY" by Jackson Wang

Avid K-pop fans should never miss the latest offering of Jackson Wang. The track titled "LMLY," also known as "Leave Me Loving You," is an adorable 80s synth-pop song, which centers on a story of a person who was left hanging by the love of his life.

The official music video of "LMLY" is very special for Jackson Wang, who composed and produced his latest single, as he wrote its script and took the director chair for it. The clip, which premiered on March 26, already garnered a total of 2.7 million views with more than 534,000 likes and more than 48,000 comments.

3. "What Type of X" by Jessi

South Korean-American rapper Jessi treated her devoted followers with a new track called "What Type of X." The song, which delivers a message about women empowerment, was written for Refund Sisters. However, the group ended up recording "Don't Touch Me" instead.

The official music video of "What Type of X" by Jessi already amassed a total of 18,453,264 views on YouTube, with more than 1.3 million likes and more than 61,676 comments. It was released on March 17, 2021.

4. "Dark Clouds" by Taeyong

NCT member Taeyong surprised his devoted fans when he opened a SoundCloud account recently and released his new solo track titled "Dark Clouds." The track, which centers on staying positive amid the darkness, is very personal for the South Korean singer who co-wrote and co-composed it with producer Royal Dive.

As of late, the official music video of "Dark Clouds" by Taeyong already garnered a total of 570,940 views with more than 111,000 likes and 1,659 comments. It premiered on March 15, 2021.

5. "LILAC" by IU

Of course, the list would not be complete without "LILAC" by IU. The track, which is the carrier single of her album of the same title, gives off a retro vibe that is similar of the 70s and 80s. This song is very special for IU as it is one of her latest compositions.

The official music video of "LILAC" by IU already got a total of 12.1 million views with more than 974,00 likes and 52,522 comments as of this writing. It was released on March 25, 2021.
