EXO's Chanyeol To Enlist in the Army as an Active-Duty Soldier on March 29
EXO member Chanyeol is officially enlisting in the military today, Mar. 29, as an active-duty soldier. His label, SM Entertainment, has announced that they will not disclose to which division Chanyeol will be assigned and the location of his enlistment.
SM Entertainment has also stated that they will not reveal the time of his enlistment. Additionally, they will not be holding separate events concerning Chanyeol's enlistment.
Among the EXO members, Chaneyeol is the fifth member to enlist and fulfill his mandatory military duties. Other EXO members who have already enlisted in the military are Xiumin, D.O., Suho, and Chen. Among them, Xiumin and D.O. have already been discharged.
On Friday, Feb. 26, it was announced that Chanyeol would be enlisting for the military on Mar. 29. SM Entertainment quickly confirmed the news, stating that Chanyeol will be serving the country as an active-duty soldier.

EXO Chanyeol's Recent Activities
On Mar. 24, "The Box," a feature film Chanyeol stars in, premiered in South Korea. April, the film will be screened in Singapore, Indonesia, and Malaysia. It will then be released in the United States, Japan, Vietnam, and Australia.
"The Box" centers around an aspiring musician named Ji Hoon (played by Chanyeol), who cannot perform in front of an audience. Once Ji Hoon crosses paths with a producer named Min Soon (played by Cho Dal Hwan), who used to be a huge name in the music industry, the two will embark on a journey of self-realization, chasing dreams, and figuring out what they want in life.
The film features renditions of numerous famous songs, mostly sung by Chanyeol, including Billie Eilish's "Bad Guy," Coldplay's "A Sky Full of Stars," Mariah Carey's "Without You," Pharrel Williams' "Happy, and Louis Armstrongs "What a Wonderful World."
The film also rose to become the No. 1 box office movie, beating "Minari."
On Mar. 20, Chanyeol made his official return to Instagram to promote his film, "The Box," as well as share some photos from a photoshoot. While his return received love from international fans, it caused a backlash among Korean netizens, who claimed the idol had not yet recovered from his alleged serial cheating controversy.

From Dec. 12, 2020, to Jan. 9, 2021, Chanyeol appeared in "Law of the Jungle in Ullengdo & Dokdo." The filming took place in Ullegdo & Dokdo, Ulleung, Gyeongsangbuk-do, South Korea. In the variety show, the cast members are tasked to explore Ullengdo and Dokdo by crossing the ground and sea.
On Apr. 25, 2019, Chanyeol released his first song as a soloist, "SSFW," through SM Entertainment's SM Station. On Jun. 28, SM Entertainment announed that Chanyeol, along with fellow EXO member Sehun, will be debuting in EXO's second official sub-unit, EXO-SC. The duo debuted as sub-unit on Jul. 22, 2019, with their first mini-album, "What a Life."
