Red Velvet's Yeri and Pentagon's Hongseok have been offered the lead roles in the upcoming web-drama "Blue Birthday".
On Mar. 30, Playlist revealed that Red Velvet's Yeri and Pentagon's Hongseok are both positively considering the lead roles for their upcoming web-drama "Blue Birthday." Playlist had produced several other web-dramas such as "XX," "Twenty Twenty," and "Love Playlist."
"Blue Birthday" is reportedly a fantasy romance and thriller drama that centers around a mysterious photo left by a friend who suddenly decided to take their own life.
"Blue Birthday" is currently going into production and is expected to release in the second half of the year.

Red Velvet Yeri and Pentagon Hongseok's Acting Debut
Red Velvet's Yeri recently made her acting debut on Mar. 3, taking on the lead role in the one-episode drama, "Mind Condition," which was aired through tvN's "Drama Stage 2021" that features one-episode dramas with different stories.
The youngest member of Red Velvet was praised for her acting and performance as Hong Cha Ri, a nurse in the Radiology Department who has a strong and independent personality. Despite this being Yeri's first time acting in a drama, she was able to manifest and portray her character well. Netizens are looking forward to Yeri's future projects and growth as an actress.
Pentgon's Hongseok made his acting debut in 2017 through the film "My Last Love." He then went on to continue acting and starred in MBN's television drama "Best Chicken" in 2019. In March 2019, he starred in his first-ever web-drama, "On The Campus." Last May 2019, he starred in another web-drama, Naver V's "Anniversary Anyway."
He also made a cameo appearance in Playlist's web-drama "Twenty Twenty" with fellow bandmate Kino. Hongseok's most recent acting project was appearing in the SBS romantic drama "Phoenix 2020".

Update on Red Velvet and Pentagon's Activities
On Mar. 15, Pentagon had their comeback with their eleventh mini-album, "LOVE or TAKE," and their title track, "DO or NOT." The title track was co-composed by fellow Pentagon members Wooseok and Hui and was able to take the top spot in the Genie real-time music chart.
On Mar. 24, SM Entertainment announced that Red Velvet's Wendy will be making her solo debut on April 5. Her solo debut album titled "Like Water" will consist of five songs, with two of them being title tracks called "Like Water" and "When This Rain Stops."
