PlayM Issued an Official Statement Against Apink Chorong's Childhood Friend
According to PlayM Entertainment, they already brought the case to Gangnam Police Station, and the alleged Kim will be charged with defamation and attempted coercion in case of false fact through Wonil, a law firm.
The official statement also revealed that the threatening intensified as the childhood friend wants Chorong to retire in the entertainment industry, or Kim will not stop.
As they affirmed that they would take stern legal action, PlayM also said, "Park Chorong is currently suffering from severe mental pain. We will take strong legal measures such as civil and criminal complaints."
Here's PlayM Entertainment's Official Statement:
Hello, we're PlayM Entertainment.
"On April 1, the company filed a legal complaint against "Kim" at the Gangnam Police Station on charges of defamation and attempted coercion in connection with our artist, Park Chorong.
Recently, she received a threatening call from his childhood friend Kim. Kim urged retirement from the entertainment industry with threats to reveal false assault and private life to the media, using the relatively public-known situation of Park Chorong.
Park Chorong recognized that there were a disagreement and discord between her and Kim, who had been closely interacting with her in the past, and apologized for the inconvenience she had caused.
In addition, Park Chorong announced that she had not committed the assault claimed by Kim and corrected the factual relationship. In addition, Chorong tried to communicate with Kim by responding to their request for a meeting, but in the process, Kim continued to reverse the relationship, cancel the meeting, and record the phone call containing Park Chorong's sincere apology and reported it to the media.
Thus, Park Chorong is suffering from severe mental pain. In response, we have reviewed the data necessary for the complaint process and inform you that we will take strong legal action, including civil and criminal charges, for defamation and attempted coercion in case of false fact.
We ask for your generous understanding that we have caused trouble with something bad. Thank you for your support and we will continue to do our best to protect the rights and interests of our artists."
