BLACKPINK Rosé, IU, EXO Baekhyun and More: These K-pop Idols Have the Biggest 2021 Album Debuts on Spotify so Far

K-Pop music has attracted the attention of many around the world. South Korean artists have also been dominating music charts and online streaming platforms. Below are the Top 5 biggest 2021 album debuts by K-pop artists on Spotify so far.

#1. "-R-" by BLACKPINK member Rosé

It cannot be denied that the first-ever solo album of BLACKPINK member Rosé has been warmly received by music lovers worldwide. The main vocalist of the world's biggest female band dropped "On the Ground" and "GONE" as part of the "-R-" EP, which was officially been made available in the market on March 12, 2021.

Since then, the two tracks have been breaking records after records. On Spotify, the "-R-" album of BLACKPINK Rosé already garnered a total of 8.66 million streams as of this writing.

#2. "LILAC" by IU

Coming in second place is "LILAC" by IU. The said EP is the fifth studio album of the South Korean pop princess, which contains a total of 10 tracks. In an interview, IU shared that the album's title means "memories of youth." The K-pop idol shared she included a farewell message in the album as she goes onward to the next chapter of her life.

IU released the first single off the album titled "Celebrity" in February, which has also been reigning supreme in various music charts around the world. On Spotify, "LILAC" has garnered a total of 3.11 million streams already.

#3. "Bambi" by EXO Baekhyun

EXO member Baekhyun returned with his third mini-album titled "Bambi." The said EP consists of six tracks, including the carrier single "Amusement Park." In a statement, SM Entertainment revealed that the album contains mature song lyrics with fairytale expressions.

"Bambi" is said to be the final release of EXO member Baekhyun before he officially enlists for his compulsory military service in April. On Spotify, the "Bambi" album already amassed more than 1.9 million streams as of late.

#4. "Zero: Fever Part 2" by ATEEZ

ATEEZ also made their comeback earlier this month with the release of their sixth extended play called "Zero: Fever Part 2." The album's carrier single titled "Fireworks I'm the One)" was able to enter the Gaon Digital Chart, where it peaked at No. 148.

"Zero: Fever Part 2" also debuted at No. 1 in the Gaon Album Chart and at No. 8 in the Billboard World Album Chart. On Spotify, the latest album of "Zero: Fever Part 2" got a total of 1.81 million streams already.

#5. "Don't Call Me" by SHINee

Completing the top 5 list is "Don't Call Me" by SHINee. The said EP served as the group's seventh studio album, which was released on February 22, 2021. Several fans considered it as a huge comeback since it is the first time that band released an album since three of its members completed their military service.

"Don't Call Me" peaked at No. 1 on Gaon Album Chart. On Spotify, the most recent offering of SHINee already generated a total of 1.79 million streams.
