SEVENTEEN's Mingyu Vows to 'Behave with Maturity' Following Bullying Allegations + Says Sorry to Avid Fans

Many fans were shocked when SEVENTEEN member Mingyu was plagued with bullying allegations earlier this year. Though Pledis Entertainment was quick to deny the accusations, more sources stepped forward and indicted the K-pop idol for, allegedly, harming them during their younger days.

On Tuesday, April 6, the agency released its final statement on Mingyu's bullying allegations. Keep on reading to know the contents of the official assertion.

Pledis Entertainment Releases Final Statement on SEVENTEEN Mingyu Bullying Accusations

The agency revealed that it worked very hard too carefully verify all of the statements and data released. Pledis Entertainment said that it even ensured that no one, including SEVENTEEN member Mingyu and his alleged victims, has experienced maltreatment or any form of unfairness throughout the process.

The management shared it did contact all individuals who claimed that they were bullied by Mingyu in the past. Pledis Entertainment, then, issued statements rectifying the accusations and declarations that were proven untrue and incorrect.

The statement explained that the SEVENTEEN member could not remember maltreating someone in the past. Mingyu, however, recounted laughing at one of his classmates who cracked a joke. Despite that, the "My My" hitmaker said sorry if he offended or hurt his alleged victims in any way.

Pledis Entertainment claimed that the accuser and SEVENTEEN member Mingyu does not want to cause harm to each other because of the issue. So, the agency is also asking everyone to avoid unnecessary speculations that could exacerbate the situation.

Meanwhile, Mingyu also released a statement after being accused of bullying. The SEVENTEEN member said the whole fiasco has thought him some of the most important lessons in life.

The "VERY NIICE" hitmaker acknowledged that he might have hurt and caused distress to someone through his unintended actions even if her memories do not serve him right. The allegations, also, pushed him to reflect on how he should conduct himself, especially in front of many people.

SEVENTEEN member Mingyu said that the unwavering love and support of his avid followers enabled him to survive all the challenges he faced in the past few months. The "Adore U" singer said he realized that he should behave with maturity to return the positive energy he has received from his devoted supporters, adding that he would make sure too act in the best way possible all the time.

Last month, Pledis Entertainment revealed that Mingyu came to a settlement with one of his accusers. At the time, the SEVENTEEN member explained that he often jokes around with his classmates while at school. He said that he had no intention of bullying or hurting others.

The alleged victim, then, accepted Mingyu's apology, including the terms of the settlement. The accuser claimed, during one of their discussions, that he does not want to see Mingyu leaving SEVENTEEN or halting his activities just because of something that happened in the past.
