BTS Reportedly Confirms Comeback Date With New Digital Single

BTS has reportedly revealed their comeback date in May, and it will be with the release of a new digital single!

On April 4, Korean media outlet Sports Donga reported that the K-pop boy group will return with a new song sometime in May. Big Hit Music, however, stated that they would give an update about their artists' comebacks once they are confirmed.

Following this, more reports about BTS's comeback were published. According to JoyNews 24, the seven-piece boy band is scheduled to return in the last week of May, with May 28 being the presumed comeback date. The Korean media outlet added that BTS is currently in the final stages of their album preparations.

On April 16, News1 reported that BTS has confirmed their comeback date.

BTS's Comeback Date Reportedly Set on May 21 with a New Digital Single

According to an exclusive report from News1 on April 16, BTS will release their new track on May 21 and is aiming to be launched in the global music market. In addition to this, the members - RM, Jungkook, Suga, V, Jin, J-Hop, and Jimin - are said to be busy wrapping up the last stages of preparations for their comeback.

The upcoming track would be BTS's first one in nine months since their English-language digital single "Dynamite," which came out on Aug. 21 last year. "Dynamite" became the very first song by a K-pop artist to take the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Also, it becomes the first No. 1 track of BTS in the United States.

Additionally, the new digital single will mark BTS's first comeback after five months since the release of their fifth Korean studio album titled "BE." As of press time, Big Hit Music is yet to respond to the report.

BTS and TXT Win at 2021 iF Design Awards

Also, on April 16, reports stated that BTS took home an "iF Design Awards," along with junior boy group TXT. In particular, the two boy groups won in the Communication Design category for BTS's "Graphic Lyrics" book set and TXT's "Dream Chapter" album series.

The iF Design Awards ceremony is one of the world's three major international design awards, with the two others being the Red Dot Design Awards and IDEA (International Design Excellence Award).

BTS's "Graphic Lyrics" book set was released in five volumes last year, each for one of the tracks titled "A Supplementary Story: You Never Walk Alone" (Vol.1), "Save ME" (Vol.2), "House of Cards" (Vol. 3), "RUN" (Vol. 4), and "Butterfly" (Vol. 5).

BTS's "Boy With Luv" Becomes Fastest K-pop Boy Group MV to Reach 1.2 Billion Views

Meanwhile, the music video for "Boy With Luv" by BTS has become the fastest MV of a K-pop boy group to hit 1.2 billion views on YouTube.

On April 15 at around 9:48 a.m., KST, the MV for "Boy With Luv," featuring Halsey, has exceeded 1.2 billion views on the platform, becoming the second music video to achieve this feat after BTS's "DNA."

Released on April 12, 2019, the MV took two years, two days, and 15 hours to attain the milestone. It is now the fastest K-pop boy group music video to do so, beating the record of three years, four months, and 23 days set by "DNA."
