BLACKPINK Achieves 3 New Records on Spotify + Beats BTS, Justin Bieber and Katy Perry on YouTube

BLACKPINK remains one of the most-streamed artists today. As a matter of fact, it was revealed on Sunday, April 18, that the YG Entertainment -formed group just made a total of three new records on Spotify. Keep on reading to know more details about the latest feat of the "How You Like That" singers.

BLACKPINK Breaks 3 Records on Spotify

Reports have it that BLACKPINK already surpassed the 5 billion streams mark on Spotify. This triumph made Jennie, Lisa, Rosé and Jisoo the first-ever female K-pop act to ever achieved the milestone on the said online music streaming platform.

Not only that because BLACKPINK was also pronounced as the fastest K-pop act to ever break the 5 billion streams mark. Lastly, the "Lovesick Girls" hitmakers are the fastest female group to ever made it this far.

As of this writing, BLACKPINK is the No. 6 most-followed group on Spotify with a total of 20.925 million followers. Imagine Dragons topped the list with 33.6 million followers, followed by Queen, BTS, Maroon 5 and Coldplay with 33.4 million, 31 million, 30 million and 29.7 million followers, respectively.

Other acts who made it to the list are One Direction with 20.919 million followers, Guns N' Roses with 20.2 million followers, Twenty One Pilots with 20.1 million followers and The Beatles with 19. 2 million followers. Earlier this month, BLACKPINK was even named as the first female group to have a total of 10 tracks with over 200 million streams on Spotify.

All tracks from "The Album" have accumulated a total of 1.37 billion streams already. The "Kill This Love" album also garnered more than 771 million streams while "Square One" got more than 453 million streams as of this writing. On the other hand, "BLACKPINK In Your Area" amassed 259 million streams, "Kiss and Make Up" has 421 million streams, "Kill This Love" (Japanese Version) got 32 million streams and "Sour Candy" has more than 204 million streams.

Meanwhile other reports suggested that BLACKPINK did beat Marshmello, BTS, Justin Bieber and Katy Perry after the group was named the fastest artist to surpass 40 million subscribers on YouTube. The biggest all-female band in the world, reportedly, achieved the feat in four years and five months.

Marshmello, allegedly, broke the 40 million subscribers mark in four years and six months. BTS, on the other hand, achieved the feat after seven years and 10 months. Justin Bieber and Katy Perry, for their part, made it after 11 years and six months, and 12 years and nine months, respectively.

If that is not enough, BLACKPINK is also less than 800,000 streams away from beating Little Mix as the most streamed female group on Spotify. Little Mix, currently, holds the top spot with a total of 5.8 billion streams while the "Ice Cream" singers got 5 billion streams as of this writing. Fifth Harmony and TWICE nabbed the third and fourth spots with 4.2 billion streams and 2.6 billion streams, respectively.
