IU was named the Princess of K-pop for nothing. On Sunday, April 18, the "Celebrity" singer reached another milestone on Instagram after she exceeded 20 million followers on the said photo-sharing site. Aside from that, she also got another win in a recent episode of "Inkigayo."

IU Surpasses 20 Million Followers on Instagram
The South Korean pop princess just proved, again, that she is an international sensation. IU has cemented herself as one of the most-followed K-pop idols on Instagram. To celebrate her most recent feat, she shared a screenshot of her official page and encircled her current total number of followers.
In the caption, IU acknowledged that 20 million people are watching her. As of this writing, the "Dream High" actress is the No. 12 artist with the highest number of followers on the said platform.
BLACKPINK member Lisa dominated the Most Followed K-Pop Idols on Instagram in 2021 list with more than 50.7 million followers as of late. Jennie, Rosé and Jisoo, then, followed in the second, third and fourth places. Other personalities who made it to the tally are EXO members Chanyeol, Sehun and Baekhyun, BIGBANG's G-Dragon, GOT7 member Jackson and SNSD member Taeyeon.
Just today, IU effortlessly garnered more than 2.3 million likes from her most recent Instagram post. The "LILAC" hitmaker shared snaps of her wearing a black ensemble as she highlights her red pouty lips.

IU Nabs No. 1 Spot on 'Inkigayo' for the Third Time
IU did not only make it big on Instagram this weekend because she also made another milestone on "Inkigayo." The "Blueming" songstress beat BLACKPINK Rosé and Brave Girls with "LILAC." This serves as the third win of the K-pop superstars in the said television program.
The show did not only highlight the newest victory of IU as it also featured the comeback of Kang Daniel with "Antidote," SHINee with "Atlantis" and Yoon Ji Sung with "Love Song." MAMAMOO member Whee In also made her solo comeback and performed her latest track titled "Water Color."
Other artists who performed on this week's episode, aside from IU, include T1419, Cosmic Girls, OnlyOneOf, NTX, ASTRO, STAYC, MIRAE, Lunarsolar, DRIPPIN and DKP. The solo performances included UP10TION member Lee Jin Hyun, Kim Se Jeong, Kim Jae Hwan and WINNER member Kang Seung Yoon.
IU Talks About 'Scarlet Heart: Goryeo' With Lee Joon Gi
Meanwhile, IU made a surprise call during the special episode of "DREAM," wherein Lee Joon Gi was tapped as the host in celebration of his birthday. The two South Korean artists talked about their friendship and later mentioned about the "Scarlet Heart: Goryeo" drama series, which was released in 2016.
Lee Joon Gi asked IU if she is willing to reprise her role should a second installment be produced. The "Hold My Hand" songstress was quick to respond to her former co-star's question, saying that she had a great time working with him and the rest of the cast and crew before.
IU admitted she is amazed that several people still love the drama even if it was shown more than six years ago already. The "Through the Night" singer, then, said that there would be no reason for her to not do the supposed second season, especially if the conditions would allow them to gather together again.
