SG Wannabe becomes another K-pop group to see a dramatic resurgence on a Korean music chart, or what is called reverse run, following Brave Girls and LABOUM.
Old K-pop songs have been climbing on music charts in Korea these days thanks to a compilation video of the girl groups' performances that was uploaded to YouTube. The boy band, on the other hand, had a different way of gaining popularity recently.

Notably, SG Wannabe's "Timeless," which is the band's debut song, was released back in 2004. This means it has been 17 years since the track gained recognition. Although, "Timeless" already became a hit after its release.
In addition to this, the five other songs were launched more than 10 years ago as well. "Sin and Punishment was released in 2005, "As We Live" and "Partner for Life" in 2006, "Arirang" in 2007, and "LALALA" in 2008.
SG Wannabe performed these tracks on the April 17 broadcast of MBC's "Hang out with Yoo" and garnered attention for singing live. Their performances for each song were uploaded to YouTube after the episode. The video for "Partner for Life" had a whopping 4.6 million views in three days, 3.4 million views for "As We Live," 3.12 million views for "Timeless," 2.5 million views for "LALALA," and "Arirang" recorded 1.72 million views.

According to MelOn, the boy band's songs are showing incredible streams day after day, compared to the views of their live performance on MBC's "Hangout with Yoo." The number of streams for "Partner for Life" rose by 2167%, 2098% for "Timeless," and 1612% for "As We Live."
After its release in 2004, SG Wannabe's "Timeless" ranked first in the last week of February, the first week of March, and on the weekly charts for two consecutive weeks. The boy group's sudden popularity followed Brave Girls and LABOUM who recently experienced reverse run thanks to a separate compilation video. Brave Girls' "Rollin'" and LABOUM's "Journey to Atlantis" have been rising on charts since February.
