BLACKPINK is the Most Searched for Girl Group on MelOn for April 2021
Taking the top spot is the YG Entertainment girl group, BLACKPINK! For the month of Apr. 2021, BLACKPINK was searched for 350,974 times on MelOn. One reason for the girl group being at the top is member Rosé's solo debut with "-R-." Her debut single, "On The Ground," peaked at number four on the Gaon Digital Charts and at number three on the K-Pop Hot 100 charts.

BLACKPINK's most recent musical release was back on Oct. 2, 2020. The girl group released their first-ever full-length studio album, "THE ALBUM."
The album received an "Album of the Year" nomination at the 2020 MelOn Music Awards (MMAs) but ultimately did not win. It received the same nomination at the Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMAs), Gaon Chart Music Awards (GCMAs), and the Golden Disc Awards. BLACKPINK took home the "Best Album (Bonsang)" award at the latter awards ceremony but ultimately did not win the "Album of the Year" award.
"THE ALBUM" won the "Best Album (Overseas)" awards at the Asian pop Music Awards.
Brave Girls is the Second Most Searched for Girl Group on MelOn for April 2021
Coming in second place is Brave Girls. The Brave Entertainment girl group was searched for 322,639 times on MelOn. The girls saw a sudden resurgence in popularity in Feb. 2021, when a fan-made compilation video of Brave Girls performing "Rollin'" was uploaded to YouTube. The video went viral, and the song soon rose to the top of real-time music charts.

Following the sudden popularity of the song, Brave Girls resumed promotional activities for "Rollin'," despite the song being released back in 2017. "Rollin'" is the girl group song with the longest perfect all-kill, recording 262 of perfect all-kill. Their 2020 release, "We Ride," has also received more attention, thanks to the girl group's newfound fame.
