BLACKPINK Rosé's 'On The Ground' Becomes the Longest-Ranking 2021 K-pop Song on Worldwide iTunes Chart

BLACKPINK Rosé's solo debut single "On The Ground" has attained a major milestone on the worldwide iTunes chart, ranking on the list for the longest time among the K-pop songs released in 2021, so far.

On March 12, Rosé became the second BLACKPINK member to make her solo debut. She released her first single album titled "R," featuring the title track "On The Ground." The song has since been ranking on the worldwide iTunes Top Songs chart.

BLACKPINK Rosé's "On The Ground" is The Longest-Running 2021 K-pop Song on Worldwide iTunes Chart

On May 5 (local time), BLACKPINK member Rosé ranked No. 98 on the worldwide iTunes Top Songs chart with "On The Ground." It is the only song by a K-pop female solo artist within the top 100 of the chart, as well as one of the two songs by a Korean female act, the other one being ITZY at No. 50 with "Mafia in the Morning."

The debut single has already spent 55 days on the tally. Considering this, BLACKPINK Rosé's "On The Ground" has become the longest-charting 2021 K-pop song on the worldwide iTunes chart.

Previously, Rosé's solo debut single peaked at No. 1 for three times, becoming the second-longest BLACKPINK song at No. 1, following "How You Like That" that maintained atop the global chart for six days.

Rosé earned the title of becoming the third K-pop female solo artist to hit No. 1 on the worldwide iTunes Top Songs chart, following IU and her fellow BLACKPINK member Jennie.

Her debut single "On The Ground" also swept iTunes Charts across the globe including the United States, Canada, France, Portugal, Brazil, Spain, Hong Kong, and more.

BLACKPINK Rosé's Other Achievements on Music Charts with "On The Ground"

Following its release, Rosé has been setting and breaking records with her solo debut single. On March 21, "On The Ground" debuted on the Official Singles Chart Top 100 in Britain, claiming the No. 43 spot. With this, the BLACKPINK member has become the first K-pop female solo artist to make it to the chart.

On Spotify, BLACKPINK Rosé's "On The Ground" debuted at No. 8 on the daily Global Viral 50 chart for March 12, with more than three million streams in the first 24 hours. To date, the track has the most streams attained in 24 hours among the K-pop released on the platform.

Besides ranking the longest on the worldwide iTunes chart, "On The Ground" has also become the second-longest-charting song by a K-pop female solo artist on Spotify Global Daily Chart. As of May 4, BLACKPINK Rosé's "On The Ground" has spent 54 days on the chart.

The K-pop female soloist with the longest time on the Spotify Chart is BLACKPINK Jennie with her solo debut track "SOLO" that lasted for 79 days on the tally.

Over at YouTube, the music video for Rosé's solo debut single broke multiple records, including the shortest time to reach 100 million views. It only took a week to reach the milestone, and so "On The Ground" has become the fastest music video to hit the 100-million mark.
