Prior to its release, MONSTA X hosted an online event to celebrate their upcoming Japanese-language studio album, connecting with their Japanese fans and apologizing for the fact that they can't meet the MONBEBE in Japan due to restrictions from the coronavirus pandemic.

Shortly after its release, it managed to top the Oricon Daily Album rankings and even caught up to the top of the Tower Records weekly albums chart for the week dated from May 3 to May 9.

Keeping their fans worldwide excited and anticipating, "Flavors of Love" will be followed by promotional activities and will lead up to their Korean comeback with the ninth mini-album "One of a Kind" set for a June 1 release.

MONSTA X in Japan

The six-member boy group under Starship Entertainment first debuted in Japan with the 2017 single "Hero," and was one of the first signs of the group's upcoming global domination. "Hero" immediately reached number two on the Oricon weekly singles chart, topped the Tower Records singles chart, and peaked at the second spot of the Billboard Japan weekly charts.

By 2018, the group released its first Japanese-language studio album, "Piece," under Starship Entertainment and Universal Music Japan. The ten-track release sold more than 55,000 copies in Japan alone, as well as three charting tracks. It managed to reach number 3 on the Japanese Oricon charts and number 7 on the Billboard Japan Hot Albums chart.

Continuing their rise as a global K-pop group, MONSTA X returned with their second Japanese-language album, "Phenomenon," released on August 21, 2019. It sold 56,000 copies in Japan and its tracks "Livin' It Up," "Alligator," and "Shoot Out" all received gold certifications from the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ).
