On May 15, TWICE's Japanese single "Breakthrough" has reached 100 million views on YouTube.

"Breakthrough" was dropped on June 12, 2019 and hit the said number of views on May 15 at 10:50 p.m. KST. This means the music video attained the feat in one year, 11 months, and three days.

As of May 19, TWICE's "Breakthrough" has 100,319,420 million views with 1.6 million likes.

This is TWICE's third Japanese MV to accumulate 100 million views on the platform. The first one is "Candy Pop," which was released on Jan. 12, 2018 at midnight KST. The music video for the song achieved the milestone on April 30 around 11:45 p.m. KST after one year and four months since release.

The second Japanese music video of TWICE to hit 100 million views on YouTube is "TT," which was launched in June 2017. It obtained the number of views in December last year.

TWICE now has a total of 17 music videos with more than 100 million views, the most among the girl group across the globe. The Korean artist has surpassed the record set by the British female act Little Mix, which has 16 music videos.

In addition to TWICE's three Japanese music videos with 100 million views, the group has 14 Korean MVs, such as "Like OOH-AHH," "Cheer Up," "Signal," "Hearth Shaker," "TT" (Korean version), "Knock Knock," "Likey," "What Is Love?," "YES or YES," "Dance the Night Away," "Feel Special," "FANCY," "MORE & MORE," and "I Can't Stop Me."

Among these music videos, "TT" (Korean Version) has the highest YouTube views, now reaching 600 million views. As of press time, the MV has 582.8 million views.

TWICE's Other Achievements with Japanese Single "Breakthrough"

TWICE's "Breakthrough" is a song that stands out with intense choreography and chic charisma. It is included in the single album of the same name, together with three more tracks.

TWICE's Japanese single album sold 250,000 copies in Japan within the month of release and eventually obtained a platinum certification from the Record Industry Association of Japan.

The "Breakthrough" album also debuted at No. 2 on the daily ranking of Oricon Chart. It sold 128,525 units on the day it was launched. It went on to rank second on the weekly Oricon Singles Chart with 229,326 copies sold.

TWICE's "Breakthrough" also entered the Billboard Japan Hot 100, taking the top spot with 288,502 copies sold and 3,451 downloads from July 22-28 in 2019.

Meanwhile, the Japanese song made it to the Billboard World Digital Song Sales Chart, claiming the No. 11 spot on Oct. 5, 2019.

The Korean version of TWICE's "Breakthrough" was added to the group's eighth extended play "Feel Special" as gifts for fans.

Meanwhile, TWICE will be releasing a new Korean album titled "Taste of Love" on June 11, as well as a new Japanese album called "Perfect World" on August 28.
