BTS's comeback single "Butter" has dominated the iTunes charts around the world! The music video for "Butter" has also broken a new record on YouTube for the shortest time to exceed 100 million views.
BTS's "Butter" Takes No. 1 on More Than 100 iTunes Charts Worldwide
On May 21, BTS made their highly-anticipated comeback with their second English-language single "Butter," in which group leader RM was credited for songwriting.
Shortly after release, BTS's "Butter" not only entered Korean music charts but also the iTunes chart in different countries across the globe. The song, in fact, quickly debuted in the top 10 of the US iTunes chart, claiming the No. 7 spot.

After one hour of release, "Butter" by Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jungkook, Jimin, RM, and V rose to No. 1 on iTunes charts in more than 15 different countries, some of which are Argentina, India, Peru, Saudi Arabia, Dominican Republic, and Ecuador.
BTS's "Butter" went on to hit No. 1 on iTunes charts in more regions in the following hours. And as of 8 a.m. KST on May 22, the English-language single scored No. 1 on iTunes Top Songs charts in 101 countries all over the world, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Australia.
The instrumental version of BTS's "Butter" even made it to the top 5 of the US iTunes chart, securing the No. 4 spot after debuting at No. 7.
With "Butter" reaching No. 1 on iTunes Top Songs chart in more than 100 countries, BTS has extended their record as the artist with the most songs achieving the milestone. The septet now has nine total songs to do so: "Moon," "Filter," "Your Eyes Tell," "Black Swan," "My Time," "Dynamite," "Film Out," "Life Goes On," and "Butter."

"Butter" by Suga, Jimin, J-Hope, Jin, Jungkook, RM, and V has also rocketed to No. 1 on the European iTunes chart and Worldwide iTunes chart.
In addition to this, as of May 21 (Pacific Time), "Butter" is sitting at No. 1 on iTunes Top 100 Songs and Top 100 K-pop Songs charts simultaneously, while the instrumental version of the song comes in at No. 2 on both charts.

And while BTS's comeback single dominates iTunes charts around the world, the music video for "Butter" is also making history on YouTube, setting a new record of the shortest time to reach certain views.
From reaching 10 million views to 90 million views, BTS's "Butter" achieved the shortest time in YouTube history. The music video eventually hit and surpass 100 million views on the platform in only 20 hours and 54 minutes, becoming the fastest music video to do so.

"Butter" has now beaten the previous record set by BTS's other hit single "Dynamite," which exceeded 100 million views on YouTube in 24 hours.
As of press time, BTS's "Butter" music video has reached 104.8 million views, becoming the biggest first 24-hour debut in YouTube history, with a few hours still left before it hits 1 p.m. KST, the official 24 hours of the song.
