BTS Snags Three Trophies at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards
On May 23, Matthew Hoffman revealed the winner for the non-televised Billboard Music Awards on Instagram Live. There, BTS took home three wins!
BTS took home the "Top Duo/Group" award, where they were up against AC/DC, AJR, Dan + Shay, and Marron 5. This is not the first time BTS has taken this award. The K-Pop superstars first took home this award in 2019, which was also the first time they were ever nominated in this category.
BTS also took home the award in 2020. They are currently the first and only K-pop acts to ever win the award.

BTS also snagged the "Top Song Sales Artist," a category where they were up against Justin Bieber, Megan Thee Stallion, Morgan Wallen, and The Weeknd. This is the first time BTS has been nominated for this award, and they are the first musical group to ever win the prize in history.
The "Top Social Artist (Fan Voted)" award also went to BTS. This year, they were up against BLACKPINK, Ariana Grande, SB19, and SEVENTEEN. BTS has consecutively won this award since 2017, meaning they have won for five consecutive years.

BTS also won the award for the "Top Selling Song" award for "Dynamite." The song was nominated alongside Gabby Barret ft. Charlie Puth's "I Hope," Cardi B ft. Megan Thee Stallion's "WAP," Megan Thee Stallion ft. Beyonce's "Savage" and The Weeknd's "Blinding Light."
This is the first time BTS has been nominated for the award. BTS is the first K-pop group to ever win the award. Notably, BTS won in every category they were nominated in.
BTS will be performing "Butter" at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards, making it their first official performance of the song.
