BTS Jungkook Did Not Eat For 5 Days in Preparation for "Butter"

On Friday, May 21, BTS held a live broadcast through V Live to communicate with their fans.

During the live stream, the members decided to watch the music video for the new song "Butter" and reacted to it in front of the viewers.

While watching the music video, BTS member Jungkook revealed that he did not even a single meal for five days to prepare for the filming of the "Butter" music video. Upon hearing this, member J-Hope commented that Jungkook did not have his signature bunny cheeks in the video.

Jungkook further revealed that he lived off only water for five days. This surprised V, who said, "Wow, only water for five days?" It appears it was the first time V heard that Jungkook had extremely dieted for the filming of "Butter."

Jungkook, who has possessed golden features and a fantastic physique since their debut, has gone to the extremes to sharpen his visuals in the new music video. His efforts drew both admiration and concern from fans, with many knowing that Jungkook is a huge food lover and loves a good model.

In the "Butter" music video, Jungkook showed off his sharp visuals and beautiful dance lines with new, blue hair, which excited fans around the world. Perhaps it is due to the efforts of Jungkook and the other members that "Butter" became the most viewed music video within 24 hours and spurring a "Butter" craze all around the world.

Still, many people had wished the idol had eaten at least one meal a day during that time. Many sympathized with the idol, commenting on how hard it must have been and how dedicated he must be to carry such a diet out for five days. It is not easy being an idol!

"Butter" Breaks the Record for Most Viewed Music Video Within 24 Hours

On May 23, YouTube revealed that BTS had broken the record for the most viewed music video with 24 hours with "Butter." The music video had garnered 108.2 million views within that time frame. The record was previously held by BTS themselves for "Dynamite," which garnered 101.1 million views on its first day of release.

Previously, "Butter" also broke the record for the biggest music video premiere on the platform with over 3.9 million peak concurrent viewers. The record was previously held by "Dynamite."

"Butter" first made headlines for being the fastest YouTube video to hit 10 million views. Additionally, "Butter" is the fastest YouTube video to surpass 100 million views, doing so in 20 hours and 55 minutes.
