ITZY Joins BTS, BLACKPINK, and TWICE as the Only K-pop Group to Reach This Large Number of Spotify Monthly Listeners

ITZY, who recently returned with a new album "GUESS WHO," recorded an impressive number of monthly listeners on Spotify. The quintet now joins their senior K-pop groups BTS, BLACKPINK, and TWICE as the only act to achieve this milestone.

On May 26, ITZY - composing of Yuna, Ryujin, Lia, Chaeryeong, and Yeji - has scored a new feat on Spotify. This achievement comes after the release of their fourth mini-album "GUESS WHO," which features the group's new smash hit "Mafia in the Morning."

In particular, ITZY's monthly listeners of Spotify have incredibly reached a new extent. As of May 26, the quintet has reached more than six million monthly listeners on the global streaming platform.

This is the first time in their career to hit six million monthly listeners on Spotify. Additionally, ITZY is the first idol group in the fourth generation of K-pop to attain this feat.

The day before that, ITZY recorded 5.92 million listeners. Because of this, the JYP girl group has become the fourth-generation idol group that holds the highest monthly listeners on Spotify, surpassing (G)I-DLE with 5.91 million.

And now that ITZY has exceeded six million listeners, they have extended their record of the highest Spotify monthly listeners for a fourth-generation idol group.

As of May 27, ITZY has a total of 6,068,030 monthly listeners on the global streaming platform. This is the 8th highest monthly listeners overall for Korean acts.

With this new milestone on Spotify, ITZY has become the fourth K-pop group overall to reach six million monthly listeners following the three of the many biggest K-pop acts: BTS, BLACKPINK, and TWICE.

Furthermore, ITZY's "GUESS WHO" is now the most-streamed K-pop girl group album released in 2021, beating (G)I-DLE's "I Burn."

ITZY's "Mafia in the Morning" ties with "Not Shy" as Their Second Longest-Charting Song on Spotify Global Top 200

ITZY's new title track "Mafia in the Morning" continues to rank on Spotify Global Top 200. On May 26, the song climbed down to No. 148 on the said chart with 828,154 streams.

Despite this, ITZY's "Mafia in the Morning" is the only track by a K-pop girl group on the global chart. Additionally, it is one of the only three songs by a K-pop act on Spotify Global Top 200, following BTS's "Butter" and "Dynamite."

"Mafia in the Morning" by Yuna, Ryujin, Lia, Chaeryeong, and Yeji has now spent a total of 26 days on the Spotify chart. It now ties with their own song "Not Shy" as the second longest-running track on Top 200. It could even break the tie as "Mafia in the Morning" is still charting.

The quintet's first longest-charting song on Spotify Global Top 200 is "WANNABE" with 36 days.

Meanwhile, ITZY's comeback song sits at No. 13 on Spotify Korea Top 200 with 6,656 streams on May 26. Their other song "Not Shy" is at No. 160 with 1,364 streams.
