Quality for EXO's "Don't Fight the Feeling" Music Video Lets Down Fans

On Monday, Jun. 7, EXO returned to the music scene as a group with the special album "Don't Fight the Feeling." This comeback is extra special for fans, as it was previously announced that Lay would be joining this comeback.

This is Lay's first time participating in a comeback since 2018's "Tempo."

However, his addition to the comeback raised questions. As he was unable to return to South Korea for the comeback, people wondered how he would be able to participate in album production, music video filming, and promotions.

When the music video for "Don't Fight the Feeling" was released, fans were pleasantly surprised to see that SM Entertainment had edited Lay into the music video.

While many were happy to see him, the overall quality of the music video caused mixed reviews. Some fans believe that Lay's addition to the music video appeared too unnatural.

Others chimed in and claimed that the editing was laughable because of how poor it was.

As EXO is one of K-pop's representative groups — known as the "Kings of K-Pop" by media outlets — many expressed that EXO deserved the best editors and their music videos to be of higher quality.

Further, people think that if they were going to edit in Lay the way they did, they should have edited him to look more natural.

Otherwise, some have stated that the editors should have just included more solo scenes of Lay to make up for him not being in the group scenes.

SM Entertainment is known for their high-quality music videos, and many know that the company is fond of using over-the-top editing and graphics to make their music video stand out. One notable music video that makes use of graphics and editing well is aespa's "Next Level," which was released on May 17, 2021.

Since SM Entertainment was able to produce high-quality music videos for their other artists, many wondered why EXO's quality was poor.
