Former gugudan Member Kang Mina Reportedly Making Cameo in "My Roommate is a Gumiho"

Kang Mina, who is a former member of girl groups I.O.I and gugudan, will be making a special cameo appearance in the fantasy-romance drama, "My Roommate is a Gumiho," which stars Girl's Day's Hyeri and Jang Ki Yong, according to reports made by Star News on June 11 KST.

Kang Mina made her acting debut in the MBC romantic-comedy series, "Children of the 20th Century," back in 2017, where she played the younger counterpart of "Birth of a Beauty" star, Han Ye Seul. The former gugudan member went on to play her first lead role in the two-episode drama, tvN's "History of Walking Upright," in the same year.

She continued her venture into her acting career by starring in the action web film "Dokgo Rewind," opposite of EXO's Sehun. In 2018, she took on a supporting role in the fantasy-romance drama "Tale of Fairy."

Kang Mina gained even more recognition for her acting by appearing as a supporting character in the popular tvN fantasy-romance drama, "Hotel Del Luna," which featured star-studded casts such as IU Yeo Jin Goo, Block B's P.O, and more.

The "Not That Type" singer's most recent acting projects are "Summer Guys," a web drama that began airing on March 30, 2021, and the upcoming KBS2 drama that is scheduled to air in the second half of this year, "When Flowers Bloom I Think of the Moon," where Kang Mina is a main cast.

gugudan Officially Disbands

On December 30, 2020, gugudan's label, Jellyfish Entertainment, announced that the group would be disbanding, bringing sadness to many of gugudan's fans, Danjjak (close friend).

According to Jellyfish Entertainment, in a statement they released, after having an in-depth discussion with all eight members of the group, they have decided to officially end group activities on December 31, 2020, and that they will do their best to support the members in their individual activities.

Prior to their disbandment, gugudan had been inactive for two years, so their disbandment didn't come off as too much of a surprise for many of the fans. The group's last release was in November 2018, with their extended play, "Act. 5 New Action," which contains six tracks with the lead single "Not That Type."

gugudan made their debut on June 28, 2016, originally as a nine-member group. However, Hyeyeon departed from the group in 2018.
