BTS J-Hope Becomes the Most Followed Korean Solo Artist on Spotify

On June 29, BTS' rapper and dancer, J-Hope, becomes the most followed Korean solo artist on the world's largest music platform, Spotify. According to Spotify, J-Hope has surpassed 6.5 million followers on the platform, making him the first and only Korean artist to reach the milestone.

Not only that, but J-Hope has kept the title as the most followed Korean solo artist since April 7, 2019. In addtion, the "Chicken Noodle Soup" singer also ranked fifth as the most followed Korean artist after BTS, BLACKPINK, TWICE, and EXO.

According to J-Hope's following history on Spotify, he had reached the one million mark back on January 3, 2019. 247 days after that, he was able to hit two million by September 7 in the same year. Previously, J-Hope had surpassed six million followers on Spotify just last month on May 11, 2021. After 49 more days, he finally hit 6.5 million!

This achievement is especially remarkable as J-Hope was able to achieve the feat with only a total of eight solo songs, following the release of his solo mixtape "Hope World" that was released in March 2018 and his single "Chicken Noodle Soup" featuring American singer Becky G back in September 2019.

As of this writing, J-Hope has 2,359,553 monthly listeners. His song with the most streams is "Chicken Noodle Soup," surpassing a total of 100,702,050 streams, which he achieved just on June 26. J-Hope second most streamed song is "Daydream" with more than 89 million streams, followed by "Airplane," "Hope World," "Blue Side," "Base Line," "HANGSANG," and then "P.O.P (Piece Of Piece) Pt.1."

BTS' "Butter" Music Video Surpasses 400 Million Views

BTS' music video for "Butter" achieves a new milestone!

On June 29, the group's label, Big Hit Music, announced that the number of views for the music video of "Butter," that was released last month on May 21, had surpassed 400 million views at approximately 11:01 pm on June 28 KST, making "Butter" the 13th music video released by the group to do so.

The popularity of the music video isn't dying down anything time soon. On the day of the music video's release, it had surpassed 3.9 million concurrent viewers, achieving the highest viewing record for the premiere of a Youtube music video in history.

In addition, the music video also took other Guinness World Records such as the most viewers for a premiere of a music video on Youtube, most viewed Youtube video in 24 hours, and the most viewed Youtube video by a K-Pop group in 24 hours.
