Singer-songwriter and guitarist Sam Kim is working with UK-based DJ and producer Preditah for a new single, marking a new age in both artists' careers.
"I was excited when Preditah agreed to join me on this track. It's been an honor working collaborating with him," Kim said in a statement from Unbound Entertainment Group. "He's one of the hardest working artists in the game and just a constant inspiration in staying creative."
Sam Kim first gained public attention by being a runner-up on the South Korean reality talent show K-pop Star 3 in 2013. Born in the United States, Sam Kim first attended Todd Beamer High School in the school of Federal Way in Washington. Shortly after his stint on K-pop Star 3, he was signed by one of the judges, You Hee-yeol, and made his debut with the first-part EP, "My Name is Sam," in March 2016. It was followed by the full-length EP, "I Am Sam," released on April 10. As an alumnus on the long-standing talent show, Kim made his debut performance at the finale stage of K-pop Star 5.
He has immediately established a name for himself in the Korean music industry, thanks to his soulful and lively guitar performances, now known as the "Sam Groove." Since his debut, Sam Kim has remained a constant presence in the global scene, teaming up with the biggest local acts such as Primary and Loco and performing in some of the world's largest performances to date, sharing spotlights with international names such as Ruel, Tom Misch, and Charlie Puth.
In the new song, Sam Kim will be using his iconic guitar riffs with the dance-garage that has made Preditah a household name in the electronic music scene. Born Nathan Gerald, the DJ, producer, and bassist known as Preditah, is known for his orchestral, melodic approach to creating his bangers. Since then, he has become one of the most recognizable acts in the UK and in the rest of the world for garage and grime music. Preditah instantly became known for his breakthrough single "The Big Wok."
Sam Kim and Preditah's first collaboration is set to drop sometime in August 2021.
