MAMAMOO Wheein Reportedly Signing with Jay Park's H1GHR Music

MAMAMOO Wheein is reportedly signing with H1GHR Music, a label founded by Jay Park and Cha Cha Malone.

According to an exclusive report by Korean media outlet, Hankyung, on July 28 KST, Wheein is currently in the final stages of discussion to sign an exclusive contract with the label.

MAMAMOO Wheein Reportedly Signing with Jay Park's Label H1GHR Music

Wheein, who made her debut as a member of MAMAMOO back in June 2014, announced the end of her exclusive contract with RBW back in June with a handwritten letter.

In the handwritten letter Wheein posted, she explained that she is read to leave RBW, which is like her hometown and has brought her up to this stage for 10 years since she was a trainee, and move on to a new environment.

According to Hankyung, Wheein has carefully been contemplating her signing to a new agency, and has recently been negotiating contracts with H1GHR Music in secret.

H1GHR Music is a hip-hop label managed by Jay Park. It houses 16 artists such as Jay Park himself, GOT7 Jay B, Haon, pH-1, Sik-K, Woodie Gochild, Groovy Room, and more.

Meanwhile, Wheein made her debut as a vocalist of the four-member group, MAMAMOO, in 2014. Since then, the group went on to release numerous hit songs, such as "HIP," "AYA," "Décalcomanie," "Starry Night," "gogobebe," "Dingga," and more.

In addition to her group promotions, Wheein also made a name for herself as a solo artist. With her strong singing ability, she has collaborated with various artists spanning from different genres, such as from ballad to hip-hop, and has received a lot of love as a solo artist.

In particular, many fans are fond of Wheein's hip-hop R&B vocals. Hence, many are anticipating her future releases as an artist under H1GHR Music.

Wheein to Continue Promoting with MAMAMOO Until 2023

With three members of MAMAMOO re-signing with RBW, many are left wondering about the future of the group with Wheein's departure from the label.

However, RBW stated back on June 11 that Wheein has signed amicable extension of agreement with the label until December 2023. Meaning, Wheein will be continuing her promotions with MAMAMOO, including content production such as a new album and concerts until the end of the agreement.

Meanwhile, Wheein released her latest solo album, "Redd," an R&B inspired pop album back on April 13, with "Water Color" as its lead single.
