TWICE's 'Alcohol-Free' is the Most Viewed Music Video by a Girl Group in July 2021
According to K-Pop Radar, the most viewed music video by a female K-pop act is TWICE's "Alcohol-Free." For the whole month of July, the music video garnered 29,461,635. By the end of the month, the "Alcohol-Free" music video had a total of 145,396,483 views.
"Taste of Love," the album that contains "Alcohol-Free," debuted at number two on the weekly Gaon Album Chart. In the United States, "Taste of Love" debuted at number six on the Billboard 200, making it TWICE's the third release to enter the said chart and their highest peak to date. "Taste of Love" also peaked at the top of the Billboard World Albums Chart and Top Album Sales Chart, making it their second number-one hit on the former chart.
Prior to the album's release, it was reported that "Taste of Love" surpassed 530,000 pre-order sales, making TWICE half-million sellers before the album's release. This is TWICE's third release to reach 500,000 sales.
BLACKPINK's 'DDU-DU DDU-DU" is the Second Most Viewed Music Video by a Girl Group in July 2021
The second most viewed music video by a female K-pop act is BLACKPINK's "DDU-DU DDU-DU." According to K-Pop Radar, the music video garnered 28,326,637 views in July alone. By the end of the month, the "DDU-DU DDU-DU" music video had a total of 1,652,344,761 views.
At the time of its release, "DDU-DU DDU-DU" became the most viewed online video and the second-most-watched music video of all time within 24 hours. "DDU-DU DDU-DU" is the first and fastest music video by a Korean group to hit one billion views on YouTube and is the most-viewed music video by a K-pop group on YouTube.
"DDU-DU DDU-DU" debuted at number three on the Gaon Digital Chart, peaking at number one the following week. It remained at the top of the chart for three weeks and spent over 50 weeks within the top 100. In the United States, "DDU-DU DDU-DU" peaked at number 55 on the Billboard Hot 100.
