Red Velvet 'Queendom' is the Most-Downloaded K-pop Song on Gaon Chart for Week 34 + See Top 10

Red Velvet's "Queendom" is receiving much love from Korean music fans as it became the most downloaded song on the Gaon Chart within the third week of August.

Red Velvet "Queendom" Ranks No. 1 on the Gaon Download Chart for Week 34 of 2021

On Aug. 16, Red Velvet finally made their full group comeback in one year and eight months with their new mini-album "Queendom," which is filled with six songs of various genres such as R&B, dance, and soul.

In particular, the album's title track also called "Queendom" is a dance-pop song that gives off a "refreshing atmosphere." This track contains lyrics telling us that we are all the "queens" of our lives and that when we are together, we shine the brightest.

On Aug. 26, the Gaon Chart officially released the weekly rankings of songs and albums for the week of Aug. 15 to 21 (Week 34).

On the Gaon Download Chart, Red Velvet's "Queendom" is one of the new K-pop songs that made it to the list, specifically inside the Top 10, demonstrating its popularity among Korean music fans.

Notably, Red Velvet's comeback song "Queendom" debuted at No. 1 on the Gaon Download Chart for Week 34.

Apart from the title track in Red Velvet's sixth mini-album, the B-side songs also entered the latest download chart. These are their rankings: "Pose" at No. 15, "Knock on Wood" at No. 16, "Hello, Sunset" at No. 19, "Pushin' N Pullin'" at No. 20, and "Better Be" at No. 22.

Shortly after its release, Red Velvet's "Queendom" placed first on various Korean music charts, such as Bugs, Genie, Vibe, and Momople, while the B-side songs followed closely behind in the rankings.

On Genie, "Queendom" crossed one million streams in one day and 15 hours, becoming the second-fastest girl group song released this 2021 to do so.

In addition to domestic charts, Red Velvet's comeback song "Queendom" has also entered the Global Top 200 Spotify Chart. It debuted at No. 135 on Aug. 18 with 819,982 streams, the highest rank of the girl group on the chart. It then peaked at No. 111 on Aug. 19 with 892,193 streams.

On the South Korea Top 200 Spotify Chart, "Queendom" entered at No. 4 with 49,714 streams on Aug. 18, and then it rose to No. 1 on Aug. 19 with 21,154 streams.

The title song, together with the B-side tracks from Red Velvet's "Queendom" album, also landed on the South Korea Spotify Daily Chart for Aug. 18.
