A stylist for Red Velvet revealed Irene's personality during an appearance on a broadcast. Keep on reading for what she had to say about the "Queendom" songstress.
Stylist Spills on Red Velvet Irene's True Personality
On August 27, Red Velvet uploaded the second episode to their latest reality show, "Queendom Restaurant." In the show, Red Velvet is seen making well-prepared meals for the staff members as a thank you for helping Red Velvet during their promotional activities, especially for "Queendom," as it is their first comeback in nearly two years.
As they ate their meals, the staff shared stories about their time with the Red Velvet members. It was there one hairstylist, Soon Yi mentioned a memorable moment she had with Irene.

The staff members were reliving Red Velvet's Japan tour memories when Soon Yi suddenly recalled a story from when she first started working with the girl groups. She remembered the first business trip she had with Red Velvet was also the first time she event went to Japan, and at the time, she and Irene were not close.
When they returned to Korea, the group was celebrated their special anniversary. Despite not being close to Soon Yi, Irene did not hesitate to approach her, warmly calling her "Ssaem," which is the shortened version of the Korean word for teacher. Soon Yi recalls feeling embarrassed at the time because all of the cameras were following Irene and soon caught Soon Yi as well.
Soon Yi asked Irene why she called her, and she was surprised when the Red Velvet leader gave her a gift! Irene appeared shocked by the story, saying that she did not recall doing that. Soon Yi teased her, saying she forgot because she got older!
Yeri then asked Soon Yi what she received from Irene. Soon Yi revealed that it is her favorite item and something that she always buys whenever she goes to Japan — toe socks! Her answer shocked everyone, leading the room to erupt into laughter! Irene appeared to recall the situation at this detail, saying, "Oh yeah, that's right!"
Soon Yi recalled how the toe socks had so many characters on them and then confessed that she only wears black toe socks. This caused the Red Velvet members to laugh even more!

While Soon Yi says the situation is funny to look back on, she was extremely touched at the moment. The other staff members in the room commented on how nice all the Red Velvet members are.
Irene is known for spoiling her staff members with gifts, proving how much she cares about them!
Red Velvet Recent Activities
Red Velvet made their long-awaited comeback with "Queendom" on August 16. The album contains a lead single of the same name as well as six other songs. This is Red Velvet's first comeback in nearly two years, following the release of "Psycho" in December 2019.
