What is the Gaon Retail Album Chart?
The Gaon Retail Album Chart shows offline retail album sales in South Korea to provide a precise analysis of physical album distribution to album distribution agencies and consumers. The Korea Music Content Association (KMCA) releases updates of the sales daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly.
Sales presented on the Gaon Retail Album Chart come from retailers such as Yes24, Synnara, Hottracks, Aladin, Interpark, Soundwave, and more.
Stray Kids "NOEASY" Ranks No. 1 on the Gaon Retail Album Chart for Week 35
Stray Kids' new full-length album "NOEASY" topped the Gaon Retail Album Chart for the week ending on Aug. 28, suggesting that it was the best-selling album in South Korea in the past week.
Based on the analysis on Gaon, Stray Kids' "NOEASY" sold the most on Aug. 23, the day of the album's release. A total of 196,175 copies were sold on that day.
The full-length album went on to sell thousands of copies in the following days, from Aug. 24 to Aug. 28, until it surpassed 300,000 copies in the first week.
To be exact, Stray Kids' "NOEASY" recorded a total of 321,191 copies on the Gaon Retail Album Chart for Week 35.

Remarkably, "NOEASY" is the only album in the past week to sell more than 100,000 copies in the fourth week of August.
Stray Kids' new full-length album previously ranked first on iTunes charts worldwide. As of Aug. 24 at 9 a.m. KST, the album was sitting at No. 1 in 40 regions including the United States, Germany, Spain, and Australia.
GOT7 Jay B "SOMO:FUME" Places No. 2 on the Gaon Retail Album Chart for Week 35
Claiming the No. 2 on the latest Gaon Retail Album Chart is GOT7 Jay B's first solo album "SOMO:FUME."
According to Gaon, Jay B's "SOMO:FUME" sold 35,021 copies in the week ending on Aug. 28.

GOT7 Jay B's solo album was released on Thursday, Aug. 26, so this means the sales figure above only covered three days, and yet, it was the second-best-selling album in the past week.
Based on the data, a total of 30,181 copies of "SOMO:FUME" were recorded on the Gaon Chart on the first day.
Kwon Eunbi "OPEN" Takes No. 3 Spot on the Gaon Retail Album Chart for Week 35
Kwon Eunbi's solo debut album "OPEN" is the top-selling album by a female artist in South Korea in the fourth week of August.

On the Gaon Retail Album Chart, Kwon Eunbi's "OPEN" claimed the No. 3 spot after selling 19,095 copies in its first week. Her first-day sales recorded 10,570 copies.
Kwon Eunbi is the first former IZ*ONE member to debut as a solo artist following the girl group's disbandment in April.
