BTS Sets Record as Artist with the Most No. 1s on Billboard's Digital Song Sales Chart
On October 11 local time, US Billboard announced the latest chart rankings for their Digital Song Sales chart for the week of October 16.
According to the Digital Song Sales chart, BTS took the top spot with their recent collaboration song with British rock band Coldplay, "My Universe," for their second week in a row.
The digital song sales score of "My Universe" this week was 42,600 points, which decreased by 54 percent from last week. Despite decreasing more than half in its points, "My Universe" still succeeded in maintaining the top spot on the charts.
With "My Universe" ranking No. 1, this marks BTS' 45th week ranking at the top on the Digital Song Sales chart, setting a new all-time high in the history of Billboard. This means that BTS is currently the artist with the most No. 1s on the chart, surpassing American pop star Taylor Swift's record of ranking No. 1 for 44 weeks.

Meanwhile, "My Universe" also took a spot in other Billboard charts, such as ranking at No. 12 on Billboard's main singles chart, Hot 100 - a weekly ranking of the most popular songs in the United States.
BTS and Coldplay debuted on the chart at No. 1 in the previous week, falling 11 spots this week. Despite that, it is still expected that BTS and Coldplay's collaboration song will remain in the Hot 100 charts in the coming weeks.
In addition, "My Universe" also snagged the No. 1 spot on the Hot Alternative Songs chart and the Hot Rock and Alternative Songs chart. Also, the hit song ranked at No. 32 on the Streaming Songs chart for this week on Billboard.
On the Global Excl. U.S chart, "My Universe" ranks at No. 3, while it takes No. 5 on the Global 200 chart. Additionally, "My Universe" it the best-selling song of the week.

In other news, BTS also set a new record on Billboard Hot 100 following their No. 1 debut on the chart in the previous week dated October 9.
According to Billboard, "My Universe" became BTS' sixth song to snag No. 1 on the Hot 100, following their songs "Dynamite," "Life Goes On," "Savage Love (Laxed - Siren Beat)," "Butter," and "Permission to Dance."

This means that BTS has achieved a total of six No. 1s in just one year and a month, making the group the second fastest to do so after The Beatles, who set the record at one year and two weeks back in 1964 to 1966.
In addition, BTS also became the group with the most songs to debut at No. 1 on Hot 100 with five songs. While they tie with Drake and Ariana Grande if solo artists are included.
Billboard also announced that "My Universe" is the first Hot 100 No. 1 song where two groups are credited as the leading artists.
