BLACKPINK Lisa Becomes the Fastest Solo Artist to Surpass 100 Million Streams on Spotify with 'MONEY'

According to BLACKPINK's music label YG Entertainment on October 18 KST, Lisa's B-side track from her solo debut album, "LALISA," has recently surpassed 100 million streams on the major music streaming platform Spotify.

In particular, it has been about 37 days since the release of the album back on September 10, making Lisa the K-Pop solo artist to reach the 100 million mark on Spotify in the shortest amount of time.

The previous K-Pop solo artist to hold the record was fellow BLACKPINK member, Rosé, who surpassed 100 million streams with her song "On the Ground" just 71 days after the song's released back in March.

Prior to Rosé setting the record, it was also BLACKPINK member Jennie, with her debut solo song "SOLO," which surpassed 100 million streams after 125 days.

This means that all of the top three spots for female K-Pop solo artists on Spotify got snagged by BLACKPINK.

BLACKPINK Lisa's 'MONEY' Sees International Success

Meanwhile, "MONEY" is of the hip-hop genre, which features minimalistic yet addictive bass riffs, strong piano sounds, and powerful lyrics.

Aside from seeing success on domestic charts in South Korea, "MONEY" also made a big mark internationally. In fact, Lisa became the first female K-Pop artist to hit No. 1 on US Billboard's Rap Digital Song Sales chart.

This is a big achievement considering that Billboard's hip-hop and rap charts are usually dominated by American artists, which proves Lisa's growing and unrivaled popularity.

Not only that, but even after a month of the release of "MONEY," the song is still seeing remarkable results on international charts. After climbing to the top of iTunes Top Songs charts in 38 countries and regions, "MONEY" is also steadily climbing to the top spot of Spotify's global charts, recently placing at No. 7.

At the same time, "MONEY" entered the Official Chart Top 100 in the United Kingdom at No. 81, jumping 22 spots from last week's No. 59. This also makes Lisa the first female K-Pop solo artist to chart for a second week on Official Charts.

Meanwhile, the exclusive performance video for "MONEY" recently surpassed 100 million views on Youtube after a week, while "LALISA" is on its way towards 300 million views after setting a new Guinness World Record.

As of now, fans are anticipating the release of Lisa's collaboration track with DJ Snake, Ozuna and Megan Thee Stallion, titled "SG" on October 22.
