BTS' 'Butter' Becomes the Group's First Official Entry for the 2022 Grammy Awards

BTS has officially landed on the list of contenders for the 2022 Grammy Awards with their smash hit single "Butter"!

Entries for the Grammy Awards in 2022 have started and the seven-member K-pop boy group BTS has marked their first official submission.

The Bangtan Boys have submitted their world-famous track "Butter" for consideration in the 2022 Grammy Awards' "Best Pop Duo/Group Category."

BTS will be competing for the award together with other renowned names in the music industry. "Butter" will be going up against The Kid LAROI and Miley Cyrus' "Without You," 24kGoldn's "Mood" featuring Iann Dior, Lizzo's "Rumors" featuring Cardi B, and Doja Cat's "Kiss Me More" featuring SZA.

After spending more than 10 weeks in first place on Hot 100, Billboard named BTS's "Butter" as the "Song of The Summer" this 2021.

Last year, the septet had several entries in different categories. Their million-selling album "MAP OF THE SOUL: 7" was nominated in "Album of the Year," "Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical" and "Best Pop Vocal Album."

Additionally, BTS's "Dynamite" was competing for various categories like "Song of the Year," "Best Music Video," "Record of the Year" and "Best Pop Duo/Group Performance."

Unfortunately, the K-pop boy band failed to take home any awards. Even though they failed to earn an accolade, BTS made history by becoming the first K-pop group to be nominated at the Grammy Awards.

Also, the Bangtan Boys have become the first K-pop act to perform at the prestigious event with their first English-language hit "Dynamite."

Meanwhile, the official candidates for the 2022 Grammy Awards will be announced on Nov. 23, and the event will be held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Jan. 31 next year. It will be broadcast live on Paramount Plus and CBS.

Coldplay Expresses Gratitude to BTS on 'You Quiz On The Block'

On the Oct. 27 broadcast of tvN's "You Quiz On The Block," Coldplay's Chris Martin and Jonny Buckland appeared as guests and talked about working with BTS.

Coldplay member Jonny Buckland shared that working with BTS "was absolutely wonderful." He added that the members were so "lovely, kind, and obviously unbelievably talented."

"And we're so grateful for them, for singing on the song," Jonny Buckland continued.

Chris Martin joined in and said that their collaboration with BTS has just been an "amazing pleasure" and more than what they could have dreamed.

When asked what they wanted to say to BTS, Chris Martin responded, "The only message we'd like to send to BTS is to say, 'Thank you, and we love you.'"

On Sept. 30, BTS and Coldplay released their first collaboration single "My Universe." This song went straight to the top spot of Billboard Hot 100 (dated Oct. 9).

According to Billboard, "My Universe" recorded 11.5 million streams in the United States, 5.5 million radio airplay audience impressions, and 127,000 physical singles and downloads combined.

BTS x Coldplay's "My Universe" even debuted atop both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. US charts in the same week.
