The voting for the 2021 Asia Artist Awards' "Popularity Award" is becoming more intense, and K-pop artists such as EXO, TWICE, CL, and more are taking the lead in their respective categories.
At 11:59 p.m. KST on Oct. 28, the second preliminary round of voting for the "Popularity Award" will officially close and the Top 30 artists in each category (Top 20 in the male and female solo singer categories) are the only ones who will move to the final round.
As the second qualifying round comes to an end, let's find out who are the Top 3 leading nominees in the four singer categories: Male Idol Group, Female Idol Group, Male Solo Singer, and Female Solo Singer.
EXO, NCT Dream & Stray Kids are Top 3 in Male Idol Group for the 2021 AAA's 'Popularity Award'
As of 5 p.m. KST on Oct. 28, EXO is sitting at No. 1 with more than 3.80 million votes. They are the only group who has accumulated three million votes so far.

Another SM artist who is aiming for the "Popularity Award" in the male idol group category is NCT Dream, who currently has over 2.01 million votes. Claiming the No. 3 spot is Stray Kids, who has 1.72 million votes as of writing.
Notably, all of these three groups have attained their first or nth "million seller" title this year with their new albums.
TWICE, BLACKPINK & Secret Number are Top 3 in Female Idol Group for the 2021 AAA's 'Popularity Award'
The votes in the female idol group category for the "Popularity Award" have small gaps compared to the male idol groups.
Currently reigning as No. 1 nominee is TWICE with 1.23 million votes, while BLACKPINK takes second place with 1.20 million votes as of 5 p.m. KST.
In the past few days, BLACKPINK and TWICE have been exchanging positions as fans continuously cast their votes even until midnight.

So far, it is uncertain to determine which one of them will ultimately claim the "Popularity Award" at the 2021 Asia Artist Awards.
Following BLACKPINK is a rookie girl group, named Secret Number. The quintet currently has over 300,000 votes.
Lim Young Woong, BamBam & Kang Daniel are Top 3 in Male Solo Singer for the 2021 AAA's 'Popularity Award'
In the male solo singer category for the "Popularity Award," Lim Young Woong has 1.3 million votes. This trot singer was nowhere inside the Top 10 during the first preliminary round of voting.

Next is GOT7 BamBam with over 563,000 votes as of 5 p.m. KST. Previously in first place, the Thai rapper is down by one spot.
Sitting at No. 3 is Kang Daniel who also has half a million votes, not too far from BamBam's. The "PARANOIA" singer has more than 543,000 votes.
CL, Jo Yuri & Chungha are Top 3 in Female Solo Singer for the 2021 AAA's 'Popularity Award'
Finally, the artist who is currently taking the lead in votes under the female solo singer category is CL with more than 110,000 votes. She is the only nominee with 100,000 votes so far.
Coming behind CL is Jo Yuri in second place with more than 90,000 votes and Chungha in third place with over 17,000 votes.
The final voting round for the 2021 Asia Artist Awards' "Popularity Award" will start on Nov. 1 at noon KST and will end on Nov. 15 at 11:59 p.m. KST.
