Former 'Girls Planet 999' Contestant Fu Yaning Confesses Her Controversial Moment With Kep1er Choi Yujin Was Scripted

On November 6, 小婉littlebowl released a preview of her interview with former "Girls Planet 999" contestant Fu Yaning. In the interview, the interviewer asked the Chinese singer if she still had a big impression of her first performance on the show.

To this, Fu Yaning replied, "The part where Mnet evil edited me every episode, how can I not deeply remember it?"

She then revealed that the atmosphere during the evaluation stage was very pleasant. She highly respects CLC as her seniors. Despite that, the mentors insisted that she should say something harsh and diss Choi Yujin. Since she was pushed to do so, Fu Yaning did as she was told.

During the preview of the show and the first two episodes, Fu Yaning is seen dissing Choi Yujin. After revealing that her group would perform CLC's "Helicopter," the mentors asked her to give a message to the original singer. To this, Fu Yaning sang, "We go up, but you don't." This was seen as a diss, as the song's original lyrics are "We go up, helicopter."

Fu Yaning stated that Choi Yujin's reaction to the situation was positive. However, after editing, people saw an event that didn't pan out how it actually did.

Once the episode aired, the C-group contestants also started calling and messaging her, asking if she was alright. They also hoped that Fu Yaning was not angry at the outcome.

Fu Yaning stated that viewed probably saw that her mindset and mental well-being were fine, but in reality, she was holding it all in and stopping herself from crying. After that incident, she called her parents and told them that she was feeling terrible, uncomfortable, and upset. She even cried to them on the phone.

Her parents tried to encourage her, saying that the viewers simply were not aware of the truth. Fu Yaning stated that she did not want these things to affect herself. She said, "I came and joined this show because of my passion for the stage. I wished to show my complete self for who I am, and I do not want people to come and ruin my color."

Fu Yaning then stated that now, more people love her than hate her, which gave her the courage to look at the comments again.

To this, the interview praised Fu Yaning and stated that if the singer were by her side, she would have given her a big hug.

Fu Yaning is a Chinese singer signed under Gramarie Entertainment. She was first introduced to the public as an individual contestant on the Chinese survival show "Youth With You 2." She ranked in 35th place and was eliminated in episode 16.

Following her appearance on "Youth With You 2," Fu Yaning debuted as a soloist in 2020 under the stage name Jessi Fu and Yenny. Her first release was the single album "I'm Done."

In 2021, Fu Yaning competed on the Mnet survival show "Girls Planet 999." In the finale, Fu Yaning ranked in 13th place, making her unable to debut with Kep1er. Her final rank was C02, meaning she was the second-highest Chinese contestant on the show.
