With only less than two months left in the year, we have so far witnessed numerous releases from our favorite K-Pop groups and solo artists. Along with their releases, sales are a big factor when it comes to determining the success of a song or album.
Recently, Gaon Chart announced the cumulative sales figure for the albums of dozens of K-Pop artists for 2021, with the figure based on their sales from January to October. With that, here are the best-selling albums by female K-Pop artists in 2021 so far!
BLACKPINK Lisa's 'LALISA' is the Best-Selling Album by a Female Artist in 2021
Coming in as the best-selling album by a female artist in 2021 so far is none other than BLACKPINK's Thai member, Lisa!
Back in September, Lisa made her solo debut with the release of her single album featuring her real name, "LALISA." Despite having only been released for exactly two months and three days, "LALISA" had already accumulated a total of 762,923 album copies sold!
With that, "LALISA" became the best-selling album by a female K-Pop solo artist in Gaon Chart history, and had set the record for first-week sales among female K-Pop artists. On Gaon's album chart, "LALISA" peaked at No. 1.
In November, "LALISA" also received a double platinum certification by the Korea Music Content Association (KMCA) for selling more than 500,000 album-equivalent units.

BLACKPINK Rosé's 'R' is the Second Best-Selling Album by a Female Artist in 2021
Another BLACKPINK member ranking high on the chart is Rosé, who has the second best-selling album by a female artist in 2021! Rosé, who also made her solo debut with her single album "R" back in March, had so far sold 604,001 album copies from March until October, according to Gaon Chart.
Prior to Lisa's record, Rosé's "R" was the best-selling album by a female solo artist in Gaon Chart history, setting a record of 448,089 album copies sold in the first week of its release. The album also peaked at No. 2 on Gaon's album chart.
In November, "R" also became a certified double platinum by the Korea Music Content Association (KMCA).

TWICE's 'Taste of Love' is the Third Best-Selling Album by a Female Artist in 2021
JYP Entertainment's top girl group, TWICE, currently has the third best-selling album by a female artist in 2021 with their tenth mini-album "Taste of Love."
"Taste of Love," which was released in June, has a cumulative sales figure of 557,389 album copies after five months of its release so far, awarding them the double platinum certification for surpassing 500,000 album copies sold!
Containing a total of six tracks led by the single "Alcohol-Free," the album debuted at No. 2 on Gaon's album chart.
